Our boarding houses in Königsfeld in the Black Forest region in the state of Baden-Württemberg, near Freiburg in south-west Germany, (and close to France and Switzerland) is open to students of all denominations and nationalities, and provide around 70 boys and girls in grades 5 to 13 with a “temporary second home”.

Surrounded by unspoilt countryside and enjoying a healthy climate, the spa resort of Königsfeld provides the ideal environment for personal development and learning.

The facilities and amenities available in Königsfeld cater for every need: the many activities on offer and proximity to towns such as Villingen-Schwenningen, Rottweil and St. Georgen provide a wealth of opportunities for leisure pursuits.

Königsfeld is conveniently located only a few kilometres from the motorway. The nearest international airports in Zurich, Stuttgart and Basle can be reached within one to two hours.

Image of Zinzendorfschulen - Private boarding school in south-west Germany The girls’ boarding house, Erdmuth-Dorotheen House, is located very close to the Zinzendorf Schools and provides space for 25 girls attending grades 5 to 13. This historic building has been renovated to provide modern, comfortable accommodation and has a warm atmosphere where new girls quickly feel at home.
Living space and room design are tailored to the needs of young people. Younger students share twin bedded rooms while upper school students can have cosy individual rooms.

The single and double rooms can be arranged as the students wish. Especially popular are the rooms in “Seventh Heaven”. They are reserved for the Abitur students. Students in the upper school have internet access in their rooms.
All rooms have pleasant views overlooking the school grounds.
The house is equipped with its own sauna, a fitness room, a ski store, several pianos and other common rooms in which a variety of activities takes place. In the evenings and at weekends the Abitur students can cook for themselves in their own fully-equipped kitchen.

The spacious grounds contain an atrium, a pavilion and sports facilities which are very popular when the weather is fine.

As a general rule, two boys share a study bedroom. Students in the upper school have individual rooms with internet access.

The house has a weights and fitness room, a sports room, a ski store, a snooker room with two tables, computer rooms and common rooms with televisions, a table tennis room, table football, several pianos and a soundproof practice room. In the spacious grounds there are football and hockey pitches and a basketball court. The site offers a wide range of options for spending leisure time constructively. Whether it’s a quiet corner for browsing through a book or one of the many sports or games facilities, there’s something here for everyone!

Landesschule Pforta is a Grade 9-12 German boarding school with a long tradition and special concept of furthering talented students in languages, music and natural sciences. Situated close to the cities of Leipzig and Naumburg in eastern Germany, instruction is through German, and every student has to choose one of three centers of interest: Foreign Languages, Music or Natural Sciences.

At Pforta, about 400 students from all parts of Germany live and learn from the 9th to the 12th grade, i.e. from the age of 14 to 18.
