Darrow School: Situated in New Lebanon, a town in Columbia County NY, Darrow School is a co-educational college preparatory boarding & day school for students in Grades 9-12. Darrow occupies the site and buildings of the original Shaker village located on Mount Lebanon at the far western edge of the Berkshires in New Lebanon, New York. The School road, marked by Darrow’s sign, turns off Route 20, seven miles west of Pittsfield, Massachusetts, and 26 miles east of Albany, New York. A major airport is conveniently located in Albany. Darrow is 150 miles north of New York City and 150 miles west of Boston.
Darrow's dormitories are historic shaker buildings that have been adapted to provide comfortable, spacious accommodations for students and for teachers and their families. Houses vary in size form 12 to 28 students, with two-to-three faculty dorm parents.
Students serve as Resident Assistants, and everyone pitches in to keep their home clean and well maintained.

Take Interstate 87 South (Northway) to Interstate 90 East through Albany. Get off at Exit 11E, and take Rt. 20 East toward Pittsfield, MA. Turn right onto Darrow Road and proceed to the Admission Office, located in the five-story brick building in the second cluster of buildings on your right. Visitor parking is located on the left.
From the South/NYC/NJ/Eastern PA:
Option #1
Take Interstate 87 North (New York Thruway) to Interstate 90 East (Berkshire connector). Get off at Exit B3, which is Rt. 22 North. Proceed on Rt. 22 North until you reach the intersection of Routes 22 and 20. Turn right onto Rt. 20 and take Rt. 20 East toward Pittsfield, MA. Continue on Rt. 20 East for approximately one mile to the Darrow School sign on the right. Turn right onto Darrow Road and proceed to the Admission Office, located in the five-story brick building in the second cluster of buildings on your right. Visitor parking is located on the left.
Option #2
Leave the New York Thruway at the Interstate 84 Exit and proceed east on Interstate 84. After approximately 17 miles, exit onto the Taconic Parkway North and proceed 65 miles to the exit for Rt. 295 East. Go 8 miles east on Rt. 295 to the traffic light which is the intersection of Routes 295 and 22. Turn left onto Rt. 22 North. At this point, follow the directions for Rt. 22 above.
From the East:
Option #1:
Take Interstate 90 West (Massachusetts Turnpike). Get off at Exit B3 and take Rt. 22 North. At this point, follow the directions for Route 22 above.
Option #2
Take Interstate 84 West to the Taconic Parkway. Proceed North on the Taconic Parkway and get off at the exit for Rt. 295 East. Go 8 miles east on Rt. 295 to the traffic light which is the intersection of Routes 295 and 22. Turn left onto Rt. 22 North and follow the directions for Rt. 22 above.
From the West:
Take Interstate 90 East. Get off at Exit 11E and take Rt. 20 East toward Pittsfield, MA. The Stony Brook School, located in Stony Brook (50 miles East of NYC), on the beautiful north shore of Long Island, New York, is a college preparatory, co-educational boarding and day school for grades 7-12.
