The Stony Brook School:
The Stony Brook School, located in Stony Brook (50 miles East of NYC), New York, is college preparatory, co-educational boarding and day school for Grades 7-12. The Stony Brook School offers an academic program that is challenging, comprehensive, and that recognizes the interconnected-ness of academic disciplines.
SBS is home to approximately 180 boarders every year. Our desire is for our students to learn and grow as they live together in a safe and comfortable community. There are currently 7 single-gender residential halls that house our boarding students and approximately 14 to 15 faculty families.
The Stony Brook School is situated on a 55-acre campus, 50 miles East of New York City, in Stony Brook, Suffolk County, Long Island, New York. The 55-acre campus is home to over 330 students.
Most of our 49 faculty members live on or near campus. Visitors cannot step on the school grounds without feeling as if they have entered a large family community. With students from over 11 states and 22 nations, The Stony Brook School has truly emerged as one of the most diverse private schools in the nation.

From Upstate, New England, & Points West:
Cross the Throgs Neck Bridge and then head south on the Cross Island Parkway (exit on bridge). Take the Long Island Expressway (Rt. 495) east to exit 62.
From New Jersey & Points South:
Cross the Verrazano Narrows Bridge; then head east on the Belt or Shore Parkway to the Southern State Parkway. Continue east until the Southern State intersects with the Sagtikos Parkway. Go north on the Sagtikos Parkway, to the Long Island Expressway (Rt. 495). Then head east on the Long Island Expressway to exit 62.
On Long Island:
Take the Long Island Expressway (Rt. 495) to exit 62 north which is Nichols Road (Route 97). Continue north on Nichols Road for about 10 miles until it ends at Route 25A. Turn left on Route 25A; proceed for 1/2 mile to Chapman Parkway, the campus entrance on the right.
