Directions / Instructions:

FROM WASHINGTON D.C/NORTHERN VIRGINIA AND EASTERN MARYLAND
Take Interstate 66 to Exit 6. Turn left onto U.S. Rts. 522/340 south.
Follow 522/340 for four miles, crossing over two concrete bridges that span the Shenandoah River. Continue straight; do not turn left at Jimbo's Restaurant as Rts. 522/340 do. You will now be on Shenandoah Avenue and you will pass the Warren Memorial Hospital. Shenandoah Ave. will dead-end into Kendrick Lane, and the R-MA campus will be directly in front of you. Turn left and follow the fence line, then turn right on Villa Ave, passing the local library. Go three blocks on Villa, and then turn right into the R-MA gate at Academy Drive.

FROM NORTHERN MARYLAND
Take Interstate 81 south to Interstate 66. Take I-66 east toward Washington, D.C., to Exit 6. Turn right onto U.S. Rts. 522/340 south. Follow the directions above.

FROM BALTIMORE
I-95 S - toward WASHINGTON. Merge onto CAPITAL BELTWAY/ I-495 W via exit number 27 toward SILVER SPRING. Merge onto I-66 W via exit number 49 toward MANASSAS/ FRONT ROYAL. Take the US-340 S/ US-522 S exit- exit number 6- toward FRONT ROYAL. Turn LEFT onto US-340 S/ US-522 S/ WINCHESTER RD S. Continue to follow US-340 S/ US-522 S. Do not turn left at Jimbo's Restaurant as Rts. 522/340 do. Stay straight. You will now be on Shenandoah Avenue and you will pass the Warren County Hospital. FROM TENNESSEE AND WESTERN NORTH CAROLINA
Go north on Interstate 81. Near mile marker 300 I-81 will intersect with Interstate 66. Take I-66 east toward Washington, D.C. to Exit 6. Turn right onto U.S. Rts. 522/340 south. Follow the directions above.

FROM RICHMOND AND EASTERN NORTH CAROLINA
Take Interstate 95 north to Fredericksburg. North of Fredericksburg take U.S. Route 17 north. Stay on 17 until it intersects Interstate 66 in Marshall. Take Interstate 66 west to Exit 6 and follow directions above.

FROM CHARLOTTESVILLE
Take 522 north into Front Royal. Turn left at the intersection of The John Marshall Hwy. Stay in the right lane on John Marshall Hwy for 2/3 mile and turn right onto Royal Ave (Rt. 340). Go north on Royal Ave. for 2/3 mile (through 2 traffic lights), and turn left on Academy Drive (3rd Ave.). Stay on Academy Drive for two blocks into the campus entrance of R-MA.

Founded in 1916, Virginia Episcopal School (VES) is a college preparatory, coeducational, independent boarding and day school for students in Grades 9-12 located in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, Lynchburg, Virginia and consisting of an intimate academic community of 200 students.

Located in northwestern Montana, Turning Winds Academic Institute (TWAI) is an accredited, family-run, therapeutic boarding school for troubled teens (boys and girls) ages 13-18 from Virginia and across the United States.

In our beautiful, peaceful, and safe location, we combine the benefits of a therapeutic boarding school, a wilderness program, and a residential treatment center (RTC).

TWAI has been serving struggling teens and their families since 2002, with an exceptional degree of success.

We provide an extremely high standard of therapeutic treatment to our students, and offer help for the following presenting issues: poor academic performance, behavioral problems, addictions, low self-worth, spectrum disorders, ADD/ADHD, and attachment disorders among others.

With a passion for helping young people in crisis, our clinical, educational, and operations staff are among the best in the country.

We are a small program (40 students) which means that we are able to provide a truly unique and customized approach for every student.

Typically our on site student to staff ratio is 5:1. The average stay at our residential treatment center is 12 months.

We create a customized program for each student that requires a minimum of 3 months. However, best results for lasting success are realized through 6+ months of treatment.

TWAI graduates average a 3.5 GPA. It is common for a student to complete 1.5 years of course work in 1 year.
Hargrave Military Academy, Chatham

Located in Chatham, Pittsylvania County, southern Virginia, Hargrave Military Academy is a college preparatory secondary boy’s military boarding school for Grades 7-12 and one post graduate year with college prep SAT, ACT and AP courses.

Established in 1909, Hargrave has a long history of providing quality education to our students, not only in the classroom, but in the areas of character development, leadership, socially, spiritually and athletically.

The Academy provides a safe learning and boarding environment with modern dorm facilities, dining and infirmary services. The daily structure provides a higher level of accountability and responsibility that is not present today.

Hargrave maintains no military affiliation with the U.S. Military, U.S. Reserve Officer Training Programs (ROTC), or other military organizations.
