Concord Academy:
Located in Concord, Middlesex County, MA, Concord Academy is a co-educational, independent, college preparatory boarding & day school for grades 9 - 12 offering standardized testing, college preparation courses and advanced placement courses. Believing that education is most meaningful when students find rewards in the learning itself, CA constructs an academic program that engages students’ minds and hearts and helps them become lifelong learners. Our students are encouraged to think with analytical power, imagination, and creativity.
Concord Academy’s strengths include:
- A cutting-edge math and science curriculum
- A longstanding commitment to technological innovation
- A true commitment to socioeconomic diversity
- A tradition of common trust that teaches respect for people and property
- A strong bond between boarding and day students
- An atmosphere of openness, creativity, informality, discipline, and genuine affection that defines us and makes daily life fun and rewarding.
- Artistic opportunities that may be unmatched in any college preparatory institution
- An athletic program that stresses broad participation and a lifetime awareness of health and fitness
These many attributes of CA distinguish us from other schools and, we hope, make us interesting to you. While dedicated faculty and administrators, outstanding facilities, and strong traditions contribute to making our school an exceptional institution of learning, it is truly the presence of wonderfully able, motivated, exciting, and sensitive young people that make us what we are. We look forward to the prospect of your joining and contributing to our community.
Concord Academy engages its students in a community animated by a love of learning, enriched by a diversity of backgrounds and perspectives, and guided by a covenant of common trust.
Students and teachers work together as a community of learners dedicated to intellectual rigor and creative endeavor. In a caring and challenging atmosphere, students discover and develop talents as scholars, artists, and athletes and are encouraged to find their voices.
Faculty:
Since 1922, Concord Academy's highest priority has been the support and development of informed and inspired teaching. Many of our faculty relish life in houses on campus, sharing their domestic worlds with students.
Others bring the breadth of their lives away from the campus to their work in the classroom. All bring singularly strong academic and professional credentials to their work.
- Boarding available in Houses on Campus or with Host Families

Families choose boarding schools because they offer abundant opportunities that are not available at home, accepting the sacrifice of temporary family separation to take advantage of the rich opportunities available at the nation’s preeminent independent schools.
Boarders don’t give up all of family life when they come to CA; they enlarge it in our small, family-oriented student houses and with the many day student families who welcome them into their homes.
In turn, CA’s boarding program enhances the day student experience by making teachers and advisors more readily available and by expanding international friendships. Our seven-day-a-week, twenty-four-hour-a-day boarding program is an asset for boarding and day students alike.
Boarding Options:
Boarding options are available in one of our houses on campus or with host families. This is often the preferred option of new students. Host families are usually parents of day students who wish to share their home and family experiences with a new student.
Each student house has a house manager, a junior selected by house parents and the previous years’ Boarding Council. The house manager is responsible for assisting in the management of house jobs and for running the house store.
We also offer a day/boarder exchange program whereby day students may live for a week in one of the student houses or boarding students may live in a day student’s home.
