Departmental Diploma Requirements:

Milton encourages the development of individualized programs of study and the in-depth exploration of subjects of interest. The School’s departmental diploma requirements facilitate these objectives, and students typically go beyond the diploma requirements in many academic disciplines.

Each student must successfully complete Geometry and Algebra 2.

Each student must take two history courses: Modern World History (Class II, III or IV) and United States History (Class I or II). A student may also meet the history requirement by taking the two year United States in the Modern World course beginning in Class II or III.

Arts Program:

After Class IV, each student must take one full course offered by the Arts Program. Courses that meet the Arts Program requirement are listed on page 3. A Music Package may be substituted for an Arts Program course with the approval of both the Arts Program faculty and music department. The description of the Music Package requirement is on page 3. Students entering in Class II are not required to complete an Arts Program course except as a prerequisite to higher level courses.
