Co-Ed Boarding & Day School Courses for Students in Grades 9-12:

Academics:

Photo of Day & Boarding High School in MassachusettsBelieving that education is most meaningful when students find rewards in the learning itself, CA constructs an academic program that engages students’ minds and hearts and helps them become lifelong learners.

Our students are encouraged to think with analytical power, imagination, and creativity. Concord Academy offers no academic prizes or awards, and the school does not rank students or emphasize competition.

Instead, we invite students to stretch and grow by exploring a wide range of subjects that will highlight and develop their talents, lead them in new directions, and help them grow in skill and confidence.

Many of our students receive regional or national recognition for their work, from physics to filmmaking, and they go on to an impressive array of colleges that match their interests and needs.

CA’s curriculum comprises more than 230 courses in eight academic disciplines or departments which are English, math, science, history, computer studies, modern and classical languages, performing arts, visual arts and a cocurricular athletics program.

Advanced Placement and SAT Courses:
We offer rigorous work that calls upon each student’s analytical power, imagination, and capacity for sustained, deep exploration.

We do not teach narrowly to Advanced Placement syllabi, nor to the College Board SAT and Subject Tests. Yet our teachers understand that our students must take standardized examinations; they keep this fact in mind as they construct the program of the school.

Students thrive in Advanced Placement examinations across a wide range of subjects and our students score very strongly on SATs.

While CA offers optional preparation on campus for the College Board examinations, and most departments help students prepare for the Advanced Placement tests, the school refuses to default to those tests as it constructs its academic program.

We also offer:
- Academic Technology
- Advice and Counseling
- Summer Camp
