Residential Life:
Thomas More Prep-Marian provides an off-campus residential program for boarding students.
Marian Hall, the girls' dorm, is located on 13th Street and Nation's Hall, the boys dorm, is located on 6th Street.

Resident students live in dorm facilities and benefit from the supervision and nurturing of committed staff that love and guide them in their school and social activities.

Daily study halls, positive boundaries and a safe learning environment create the structure needed to prepare young people for their future.

From Denver
When approaching Hays from the west (Denver) take Hays Exit 157 southward. Drive south about a mile, passing the Enersys and RANS manufacturing plants, to 27th Street. Just before crossing the Big Creek bridge, make a left turn onto 27th Street and travel eastward about a mile to the traffic light at the intersection of 27th and Hall Street. Turn right onto Hall Street and drive about a half mile, just past the radio station studio. At 17th Street, turn right onto the TMP-Marian campus. Drive past the school's field house on the right to reach the main administration and classroom building.

From Kansas City
When approaching Hays from the east (Kansas City) take Hays Exit 159 southward onto Vine Street. Follow Vine Street southward about a mile to the 27th Street traffic light. At the light, the Hays Visitor's Center will be on your left and a large service station on your right. Make a right turn onto 27th street. Follow 27th Street a mile westward to the traffic light at 27th and Hall Streets. Dillons food store will be on your right. Make a left turn onto Hall the traffic light and drive about a half mile, just past the radio station studio. At 17th Street, turn right onto the TMP-Marian campus. Drive past the school's field house on the right to reach the main administration and classroom building.

From Wichita
TMP-Marian is about a three hour drive from Wichita, Kansas. Follow Interstate Route I-135 northward from Wichita to Salina. I-135 meets I-70 at Salina. Take the second I-70 exit (westward) and follow "From Kansas City" directions above to complete the trip.

Turning Winds Academic Institute (TWAI)

Located in northwestern Montana, Turning Winds Academic Institute (TWAI) is an accredited, family-run, therapeutic boarding school for troubled teens (boys and girls) ages 13-18 from Kansas and across the United States.

In our beautiful, peaceful, and safe location, we combine the benefits of a therapeutic boarding school, a wilderness program, and a residential treatment center (RTC).

TWAI has been serving struggling teens and their families since 2002, with an exceptional degree of success.

We provide an extremely high standard of therapeutic treatment to our students, and offer help for the following presenting issues: poor academic performance, behavioral problems, addictions, low self-worth, spectrum disorders, ADD/ADHD, and attachment disorders among others.

With a passion for helping young people in crisis, our clinical, educational, and operations staff are among the best in the country.

We are a small program (40 students) which means that we are able to provide a truly unique and customized approach for every student.

Typically our on site student to staff ratio is 5:1. The average stay at our residential treatment center is 12 months.

We create a customized program for each student that requires a minimum of 3 months. However, best results for lasting success are realized through 6+ months of treatment.

TWAI graduates average a 3.5 GPA. It is common for a student to complete 1.5 years of course work in 1 year.
Thunderbird Youth Academy
Courses / Programs
Located in the city of Pryor, Northeastern Oklahoma, Thunderbird Youth Academy is a nationally-recognized co-ed program designed for high school dropouts ages 16-18.

Our 17-month program is offered through the National Guard and the Oklahoma Military Department. Our program comprises of a 22 week (5 1/2 month) Residential Phase followed by a 12 month Post-Residential follow up program with a mentor after graduation.

Thunderbird Youth Academy Cadets will earn 3 high school credits for graduating the program. These 3 credits have been assigned to the 8 core components that make up the core curriculum at TYA.

Students can also participate in the academy’s job shadowing programs, observing and interning in different career fields to gather ideas for future employment.

New Hope Wilderness Camp
Courses / Programs
New Hope Wilderness Camp, located in Ava (38 miles south east of Springfield), South Central Missouri, in the Midwestern United States, is a 21-day co-ed wilderness program, working with troubled teens (ages 11-20) who are experiencing conduct and behavior problems.

These include: Lack of Respect; Hostility Toward Loved Ones; Defiance Toward Authority; Truancy; Drugs; Violence; Depression and Unpredictable Behavior.

The individual treatment planning at New Hope is aimed at facilitating a change of heart, healing and strengthening family relationships, and inviting new beginnings. We have one competent staff member for every two young people. We utilize horses to do therapy with the young people, as well as daily counseling.

The ultimate goal of New Hope is to see the young people making positive choices in their lives, changing their heart attitudes positively, to facilitate a better relationship with their parents. We certainly believe Jesus Christ is the focal point for change, after one recognizes a heart need.
21-Day Co-ed Wilderness Program for Troubled Teens (Ages 11-20)

We provide a safe environment in which to:

Maur Hill-Mount Academy, Atchison

Maur Hill-Mount Academy is a Catholic, college preparatory boarding and day school located in Atchison County, northeast Kansas. Maur Hill-Mount Academy educates young men and women in Grades 9-12 in the Benedictine tradition of prayer, work, and love of learning.

MH-MA provides a well-rounded curriculum offering advanced placement courses, college prep SAT and ACT, grade-level requirements, numerous electives and TOEFL courses for international students.

We are accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools.

On campus, there is a young man's residency center (St. Leos) and a lady's residency center (Howard Hall). Rooms are each furnished with a bed, desk, dresser, and closet space, and they are also each individually climate-controlled so students may adjust to their preference.

The boy's center houses 80 students, while 40 reside in the girl’s center. In each, students have access to a kitchen, laundry facility, and lounges.

Welcome to Thomas Jefferson School (TJ), a small but far-reaching co-ed boarding and day school for Grades 7 to 12 located in St. Louis, an independent city in east Missouri.

Located on 200 acres in Independence (14 miles East of Kansas City), Missouri, Shelterwood is a licensed residential teen treatment facility offering individual, group, and family therapy along with an accredited school and mentorship program.

Our program for teens is a year-long journey which fosters dynamic academic growth through small class sizes, small group discussions, and qualified teachers.

We treat struggling adolescents that may be spiraling out of control and showing signs of: low self-esteem, depression and suicidal thoughts; abuse, anger, oppositional defiance or anxiety; drug and alcohol abuse, addictions or rebelliousness; academic challenges, learning difficulties and school suspensions; low motivation, manipulation, and poor peer choices; family conflict and substance abuse; Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD) or Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).
