Homestay:

Living with a New Zealand host family is the most popular choice for CCEL students. In a CCEL homestay you can experience Kiwi lifestyle and practise English with your host family.
All host families are selected by CCEL You have your own bedroom with a desk for studying You share the rest of the house with your host family The host family provides breakfast and dinner every day plus lunch at the weekend. You can choose a host family in the CCEL walking zone or bus zone.

Campus accommodation:

The Sonoda residence has 140 single bedrooms in 5-bedroom apartments and was awarded a 4 star plus rating from Qualmark for Student Accommodation in October 2007.

The Sonoda residence is located on our campus - 2 minutes’ walk from CCEL. You have your own single bedroom. The bedroom is lockable, and contains a bed, desk, shelving and a wardrobe. Each 5-bedroom apartment has shared kitchen and bathroom facilities. Plus shared living areas with modern furnishings and television. The kitchens are well equipped to allow for full self-catering. Dinner is also provided if requested.

Facilities available: Broadband internet access in every room; 24-hour security patrols; Linen provided; Laundry facilities available;  Self-catering or dinner included

CCEL’s activity programme is the perfect way to have fun and improve your English. There are usually 3 weekday activities every week - plus 2 activities every weekend. Activities are optional so you can choose the ones you’d like to join.

Sports on campus (soccer, basketball, badminton, tennis), Farm visits, International Antarctic Centre, Professional rugby games,  Speech competitions and barbecues, Free Conversation Club every week

Taylors College Auckland provides specialised university preparation programs in partnership with leading universities in New Zealand. With successful completion of the Taylors Auckland Foundation Year (TAFY), you will be guaranteed entry into the University of Auckland, AUT University and Massey University. You may also apply for other universities in NZ, Australia, UK or the USA. In 2010, 85% of TAFY students were offered a tertiary place. Our university preparation courses are open to students from New Zealand and international students from around the world.

There are two study options available for Taylors Auckland Foundation Year. If you have superior grades in English and relevant subjects and want to fast track your pathway to University, you can take the Intensive (Accelerated) Program. Intake is in April only and the course is 30 weeks. If you have achieved at least average grades in English and relevant subjects, the Standard Program will be suitable for you. You can start your study in January (39 weeks), July (39 weeks) or August (36 weeks).
