Thames branch is about 1 hour from Auckland, at the historical east side of Coromandel Peninsula. Whitianga’s surroundings with its white sandy beaches, crystal clear waters and marine reserves as well as hot springs at world-famous "Hot Water Beach" and the native forests of the volcanic Coromandel mountain range are well worth the journey!
