Breda is a lively city where students make up a considerable portion of the population. Breda has a lot to offer. There are many cinemas, ‘Mezz’ concerts & dance, and a brand new casino. And if you are looking for a restaurant or pub you will be spoilt for choice: Breda has about 900 of them, which makes it the city with the most pubs and cafés per square metre in the Netherlands! One of Breda’s advantages is that its entertainment scene is concentrated in the old restored city centre around the main church.

Annual events such as Breda Jazz Festival, Burgundian Breda and Breda Run are all organised in this part of the city. The surrounding area is also buzzing with activity. The city centre is full of atmosphere, boasts a large shopping district and entertainment centre and has many old monuments and places of historical interest.

University College Utrecht (UCU) is the international honors college of Utrecht University (Shanghai ranking: best Dutch university) in the Netherlands. UCU specializes in liberal arts and sciences undergraduate education, and students choose from 200 different courses in humanities, science and social sciences leading to a Bachelor of Arts or a Bachelor of Science honors degree.

The UCU approach is personal: classes never exceed 25 students, and class participation is actively encouraged. The admissions process is highly selective: students are admitted on the basis of academic excellence, but an international focus, social engagement and extracurricular pursuits are of equal importance. All 700 students (40% international) live on campus in the historic city of Utrecht.
