Fontys university makes use of a variety of didactics. Lectures, classes, project based and competency based learning go hand in hand

Scholarships:

For students who start their Bachelor program at Fontys ICT or Electronic Engineering 2009/2010:
Fontys offers talented* non-European students an extra Scholarship of 2000 Euro. Together with the 'standard' scholarship of 3500 Euro this will reduce your tuition and departmental fees to 1700 Euro.

*talented means : You must have achieved good secondary school study results with an average mark of 70% or higher for the science-related subjects.

Tuition Fees for the complete Bachelor program:
In the first year tuition Fees will be lowered to 1700 Euro (= 7200 regular fee - 3500 standard scholarship- 2000 extra scholarship). If you achieve your propedeutic certificate in the first year then you will also receive this extra scholarship for the second year. So again you will only pay 1700 Euro Tuition Fees. In the 3rd and 4th year the Tuition Fee will be 3700 Euro, but this will be compensated with an internship allowance of about 2000 Euro.

Accommodation:

Image of University in Netherlands,IT CourseThe city of Eindhoven hosts several large universities and many students. For foreign students, accommodation in the Eindhoven area is arranged by Fontys University.

Fontys International Office has a contractual agreement with 'Vestide', a housing corporation that manages a large number of furnished student flats, specifically for foreign students. FIO will request Vestide to organise accommodation for you for a maximum period of one year.

Typically, a rental amount of maximum 375 Euro per month would provide you with a room of 3.5 x 4 metres, including electricity, gas, and water charges. Rooms are normally furnished with a bed, wardrobe, chair and a desk. Kitchen and bathroom facilities are generally shared with other occupants.

- International Office; 10 years of experience with VISA and residence permit;
- Accommodation Agency; to provide you with housing if you study at Fontys Eindhoven;
- a documentation centre with computers for easy access to the internet, study books, literature, video’s, disks, cd-rom etc;
- a bookstore specialised in the specific books needed for the different educational programs;
- a cafeteria serving meals at student prices;
- student sport centre; variety of sports (walking distance of the campus);
- many different student associations, including an international association;
- student counsellor and psychologist.

PSV Stadium
PSV or PSV Eindhoven, is a famous sports club. It is best known for its professional football section. Everybody in EIndhoven will remember the semi-finals (Champions leaugue) with the famous coach Guus Hiddink. PSV won the European Cup in 1988 (against Benfica) and theUEFA Cup in 1978 (against SC Bastia).

University Building
The English courses EEE and ICT are situated within the modern education complex in Eindhoven and have about 5.000 students studying in different disciplines of engineering and ICT. The Fontys buildings are located in the centre of EIndhoven, on a 10 minute walking distance from the railway station.

The engineering and ICT institutes were founded by captains of industry in the south-eastern region of the country. Eindhoven is well-known for its high tech companies and knowledge of electronics (Philips), mechanics (DAF) and mechatronics (ASML). Within a radius of 10 km around Eindhoven, you can find many companies for internships and employment.
