Durban Language Centre (DLC) provides English language teacher training in Durban city, in KwaZulu-Natal province on the east coast of South Africa. Part-time, 2-week and 4- week TEFL courses are available for adults (18+). We pride ourselves in using effective teaching techniques and maintaining high standards of professionalism. Durban Language Centre caters for adults learning to teach English from South Africa and abroad. We offer top-quality classes and our teachers are all highly qualified, in particular they have a TEFL or Teaching English as a Foreign Language qualification, from one of the major international teacher training centres.

- Part-time TEFL course: Our part-time TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) course is suitable for candidates who can't commit to the full-time programme. You cover exactly the same material in 12 weeks, but with a different schedule. You'll learn the basics of teaching English to adults such as understanding the structure of language (language analysis), and learning how to manage adult learners in a classroom (classroom management). You will also learn how to teach reading and listening (receptive skills) and writing and speaking skills (productive skills). Our methodology teaches you how to improve students' vocabulary, phonemics and pronunciation, and how to produce and gather materials to use in the classroom.

- 2-week TEFL (Cambridge CELTA) course: This is an intensive 2-week TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) course. You don't need any previous teaching experience or knowledge of methodology. You'll learn the basics of teaching English to adults. Our methodology teaches you how to improve students' vocabulary, phonemics and pronunciation, and how to produce and gather materials to use in the classroom. You can prepare yourself for teaching English to adults and dramatically increase job prospects before travelling abroad.

- 4-week TEFL (Cambridge CELTA) course: We are proud to offer the Cambridge CELTA after a two-year accreditation process. The CELTA is an intensive 4-week TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) course. You don't need any previous teaching experience or knowledge of methodology. You'll learn the basics of teaching English to adults such as understanding the structure of language (language analysis) and learning how to manage learners in a classroom (classroom management). You will also learn how to teach reading and listening (receptive skills), and writing and speaking skills (productive skills)
