At our centrally located campus in Blackburn, Lancashire, the Queen Elizabeth Grammar School offers the finest quality independent education for boys and girls, ages 3-18. Founded in 1509, Queen Elizabeth's Grammar School has now been educating the young people of Lancashire for more than five centuries. Queen Elizabeth’s is an ideal setting for boys and girls to learn and offers them a good preparation for university, and for life.
- Beyond the National Curriculum
The broad academic curriculum offered at QEGS goes well beyond the National Curriculum by which, as an independent school, we are not restricted. While we place a particular emphasis on English and Mathematics, we also believe in the virtue of rigorous science courses which, along with the study of at least one Modern Language up to GCSE, remain compulsory elements of our curriculum.

Our pupils are encouraged to represent the school in the community in a variety of ways and QEGS also offers a wealth of opportunities for boys and girls to pursue their interests and develop their individual skills, whether they be sporting or cultural.

The Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts (LIPA) opened in 1996 to forge a new approach to performing arts training. We offer performing arts classes for 4 - 19 years old in our part-time performing arts academy called LIPA 4:19. We have over 450 students who attend LIPA 4:19 every week and we have been blessed with a huge pool of talent from around the North. Due to its popularity, we opened a new satellite school at Maghull High School in September 2008. providing training in acting, singing and dancing. The arts and entertainment industry needs multi-disciplined all-round performers, and LIPA 4:19 is designed to make you just that. Here you learn to sing, dance and act with fully qualified and enthusiastic tutors, who all have professional experience. All classes are carefully designed to reflect the correct stage of performing arts development for each age group, from young children through to teenagers.
