Image of Dulwich College, London Dulwich College:
Dulwich College is an academically selective independent boys’ boarding and day school located in Dulwich which lies south of the City of London only six miles from the River Thames. Our boys are generally in the top 15 percent of the national academic range. They come from a wide range of backgrounds and have diverse interests which enrich the life of the College. Almost all students proceed to university, with about a sixth being accepted into Oxbridge or top American universities. Boarding at Dulwich is truly international, with boys coming from all over the world, and this adds to a cultural atmosphere of tolerance and intellectual curiosity.

We also cater for the busy London parents who like to have their sons home at the weekends. There are three boarding houses at Dulwich, all close to the campus. Each house has a housemaster who is resident with his family. The College benefits from historic buildings in a delightful environment; it has a distinguished tradition of inspired teaching and genuine scholarship. We seek to build on this to achieve our aim and so help current and future generations of Alleynians to be well prepared for life.

Deciding to send your son to boarding school is a big step to take and as a parent you need to be reassured that he will be well cared for and happy, both at school and in a new social environment.

There are three boarding houses at Dulwich (for 11 year olds upwards), all close to the campus. Each house has a housemaster who is resident with his family. They are supported by a team of House Tutors, some of whom also live on the campus.

Younger boys (aged up to sixteen) live in Orchard House, sharing small comfortable study-bedrooms. Boys in the Upper School live in Blew House and Ivyholme where each boy has his own room with en-suite facilities.

All meals are taken together in the Boarders' Dining Room and in addition there are kitchen facilities for the boys in all three boarding houses. One of the benefits of boarding at Dulwich is the provision of close monitoring of a pupil's academic progress by the Housemaster acting in 'loco parentis'.

The College offers both weekly (Monday to Friday) and full boarding and at present there are about one hundred and twenty boys living on campus. Boarding at Dulwich is truly international, with boys coming from all over the world, and this adds to a cultural atmosphere of tolerance and intellectual curiosity. We also cater for the busy London parents who like to have their sons home at the weekends.
