Through teaching of the highest calibre, Stoics are encouraged to think for themselves, challenge conventional orthodoxies and pursue their own enthusiasms. They rejoice in the differences that exist between them – intellectually, in sporting prowess and in artistic and creative achievements. Home for Stoics is one of the eight boys' or four girls' houses, either in the Mansion House itself or in more recently built buildings adjacent or close by. Each House has around sixty pupils and becomes the Stoic's 'family.'
Academic Programmes:
Boarding Program; Lower School (3rd-5th Form); Upper School (from 6th Form). Pupils are encouraged to make the most of their academic abilities. Through discussion and guidance from their Tutors, they are set targets and given a clear understanding of our expectations. Subjects include English, math, social studies, science as well as a wide range of artistic and creative subjects such as art, music, design, drama and theatre.

Rochester Independent College, in the County of Kent, just east of London, offers a distinctive alternative to a conventional sixth form and a stepping stone between school and university. Established in 1984, we accept day students from the age of 11. Boarding is available for A-level students and Year 11 students on GCSE courses who are aged 16 or older.
Students come to us from all over the UK and the world, as well as the local area. There are no bells ringing, no uniforms and everybody is on first name terms. The College has an atmosphere closer to university than school where students are treated as young adults.
About 65 of the College's 280 students are boarders. Our Halls combine the informality of a university residence with the supervision and pastoral support appropriate for young adults.

The Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts (LIPA) opened in 1996 to forge a new approach to performing arts training. We offer performing arts classes for 4 - 19 years old in our part-time performing arts academy called LIPA 4:19. We have over 450 students who attend LIPA 4:19 every week and we have been blessed with a huge pool of talent from around the North. Due to its popularity, we opened a new satellite school at Maghull High School in September 2008. providing training in acting, singing and dancing. The arts and entertainment industry needs multi-disciplined all-round performers, and LIPA 4:19 is designed to make you just that. Here you learn to sing, dance and act with fully qualified and enthusiastic tutors, who all have professional experience. All classes are carefully designed to reflect the correct stage of performing arts development for each age group, from young children through to teenagers.
