The Anna Fiorentini Theatre and Film School runs dancing, singing, acting, design and film classes with professionals from theatre, film and television for children and young people from underprivileged backgrounds. We are located in Laura Place, Lower Clapton in the East London Borough of Hackney, 25 minutes north of London city. The Anna Fiorentini Theatre & Film School opened in 2001 as a Prince's Trust Business. Since then it has won 3 Business of London Awards and has a growing reputation within the performing arts industry. As well as the regular timetable, students also have the opportunity to enter our in-house competitions, such as Stars in their Eyes, Voice Idol and Oscars. Every year the school puts on a Variety Performance at the Hackney Empire. Students have the opportunity to partake in this show and learn what it really means to work as a professional. The audience consists of casting directors, producers, tv/film directors and funders as well as family and friends.
Mission:
Our guiding principle is to provide a safe, supportive envionment for young people to explore the performing arts, whether they have dreams of entering the profession or simply wish to use the performing arts classes to learn some valuable life enhancing skills.
Each Saturday during term-time, 165 students, aged 7 - 18 follow a time-table of Acting and Drama, Film, Singing, Dance and Set and Costume Design. These classes are taught by leading professionals who have a great rapport with young people.
Courses:
We run dancing, singing, acting, design and film classes with professionals from theatre, film and television for children and young people from underprivileged backgrounds. We also provide adult classes.
