Convent of the Sacred Heart, located on the Upper East Side of Manhattan, New York City, is an accredited, Latin Rite Catholic private, all-female school offering Pre-Kindergarten through Grade 12 programs. Convent of the Sacred Heart combines an outstanding academic experience with an environment that nurtures the heart, mind and spirit of its young women. The three divisions of Convent of the Sacred Heart are comprised of Lower School, Middle School, and Upper School. History:
From its inception in 1881, Convent of the Sacred Heart was governed by a strong commitment to the education of the whole child, addressing her intellectual, spiritual, social and emotional development. By the 1930s, the school had outgrown its original space on Madison Avenue and moved into the Otto Kahn Mansion on East 91st Street; in the 1940s the Society acquired the building next door, the James Burden Mansion. Since then the school has been housed in these two beautiful landmark buildings which provide an extraordinary learning environment.
College Counselling:
The college counseling program at Sacred Heart is a comprehensive process that begins with informational group meetings in the ninth grade for students and their parents. Our mission is rooted in our belief that each student is unique and that the college process is an opportunity for growth and self-reflection. At each step of the way, we are here to support and guide each student in finding her best matches for college. Weekly college counseling classes and formal one-on-one meetings begin in the eleventh grade and are supplemented with evening programs with college admissions and financial aid counselors.

Located in Manhattan, New York, The School for Strings has been New York’s premiere Suzuki-based music school since 1970, providing outstanding instrumental instruction in violin, cello, piano and fiddle to thousands of children and teenagers.
