Founded in 2004, Preschool of America opened its first school in New York City’s historic Chelsea neighborhood. Since then we have opened a total of seven centers throughout Manhattan including our center on 345 42nd street in West Midtown, and we continue to grow. The founding principle of establishing outstanding day care centers and preschools for New York City families remains uncompromised.

At Preschool of America our beautiful and modern facilities provide each child with the ability to learn and grow physically, cognitively, socially and emotionally. Our full-time programs, a good curriculum that provides plenty of hands-on learning and high quality teachers prepare the children in our schools for elementary school and for life-long learning. The New Amsterdam School offers programs inspired by Waldorf curriculum for children from birth to age seven and beyond in Lower Manhattan, New York City. Established in 2006, it began as a grassroots alliance of educators, parents and community leaders determined to bring the benefits of Waldorf education to the Lower Manhattan community in New York City.

The school will open the doors to their grade school in the Fall of 2014! As the school grows the preschool will also expand to welcome more families into the school community.
