In our program, thematic learning forms the core curriculum, with emphasis on practical life, sensorial development, social development, and creative expression. We introduce the children to a wide variety of information during the year through our monthly themes. Each theme we will also be taking a look at a different culture and educating the children about the world around them. The children are encouraged to become independent thinkers, and we aim to open their eyes to a world of discovery.

The Montessori School of Tokyo (MST) in eastern Japan is proud to provide an internationally recognized curriculum for the international student. Ookayama International School (OIS) in Tokyo, Japan offers an alternative to the larger international schools in Tokyo. The school offers distance learning programs for grades 7-12 (ages 12 - 18) and students must attend our school to participate in them. We provide a fully accredited American high school education which has helped numerous students go on to higher education in Japan and overseas. Distance learning allows for many unique opportunities not available in the more traditional school system.
