Ookayama International School, Tokyo:Established in 2003, Ookayama International School (OIS) provides a fully accredited American high school education via distance education to students in Tokyo, Japan. The school offers distance learning programs for grades 7-12 (ages 12 - 18) and students must attend our school to participate in them. Education is personalized to suit individual student needs. Graduation from OIS is not based on age or grade, but rather on credits earned.

Distance learning programs for grades 7-12:
Students are enrolled on distance learning programs at North Dakota Center for Distance Education or at The University of Nebraska-Lincoln Independent Study High School. These programs are fully accredited through the North Central Association Commission and School Improvement (NCACASI) and the Commission on International and Trans-Regional Accreditation (CITA). There are well over 200 different courses available for study.
Students may enroll at any time during the year, and if need be, set an individual pace for their work. Courses are also available for part-time students and those who have taken a break from education. Older students can take classes outside normal school hours.
