UCT English Language Centre:
UCT English Language Centre is the University of Cape Town's new English language teaching centre. Situated on campus in the heart of Cape town, we offer courses in General English, Exam preparation and English for Business, as well as English for Academic Purposes courses for those that wish to study degree programmes at UCT.

All our teachers have many years of experience and hold the highest English Language Teaching qualifications. Most importantly, they are dedicated, passionate, and work together as a team to share their knowledge and support each other and our students. 

Learner-Centered Approach:
The Centre uses a learner-centred approach and teaches in small classes of up to twelve students.  Our newly refurbished English language premises are also equipped with the latest classroom technology, and offer a modern and stylish learning environment. 

Located in the Heart of Cape Town:
We are located at the University’s Hiddingh Campus in the heart of the city, a short walk from Cape Town’s vibrant cultural and historic centre, and within easy access to the beaches and local attractions.

- Beginner to advanced level courses. Options include:

- General English classes (20, 25 or 30 lessons per week)
- English Exam Preparation (IELTS, TOEFL, Cambridge First and CAE exams)
- Business English for professionals & executives
- English for Academic Purposes (EAP)
- General English plus Language Excursions (30 lessons)            

UCT Clubs and Societies:
As a UCT student you will be eligible for membership of a range of clubs and student societies, where you can pursue your personal interests and meet other students studying at the University.

Student Residence:
Student accommodation options in Cape Town are flexible and affordable. For independent living, you can choose to stay at one of our student residences, with other students from all over the world.

We offer a range of student accommodation options, including self-catering or with meals included, single, double or shared rooms, and private or shared bathrooms.

Homestay:
Staying in a homestay – sharing a house with a local family, couple or single person – means you have the chance to practice the English you learn at school in a real life environment, and gain an insight into South African life at the same time. 

Hotels and Guesthouse:
We can also arrange for you to stay at one of the many hotels and guesthouses near the school. If you choose this option we will contact you to discuss your needs and budget, so we can make sure you get exactly the kind of accommodation you want.
