Jeffreys Bay Language School:
Established in 2005, Jeffreys Bay Language School is an English language school in Eastern Cape, South Africa, 700 km up the East Coast from Cape Town. Our closest international airport is in Port Elizabeth, 80 km from Jeffreys Bay. We are a gateway to two of South Africa's top tourist routes, namely the Garden Route leading to Cape Town, and the Sunshine Coast between Port Elizabeth and Durban. Our English courses follow the New Headway series from Oxford University Press while our exam preparation courses are compliant with the Cambridge standards. Our courses include General English, Business English, Intensive English and more. They are suitable for students of all levels - beginner, intermediate or advanced.
General English (20 hours/week)
This is our popular course for learners who want to spend more time experiencing all the activities and sights Jeffreys Bay has to offer. It focuses on the 4 skills of speaking, writing, listening and reading with grammar development. It comprises of 4 fifty minute sessions which focus mainly on bookwork, but also include conversational English. Levels range from Beginner to Advanced.
Intensive English (30 hours/week)
This course consists of 4 fifty minute sessions of General English in the morning and 2 sessions of further skills development in the afternoon. The main focus is using the language in everyday contexts. Some Business English elements are also incorporated to ensure learners have a holistic learning experience. Levels range from Beginner to Advanced.
International Business English (20 or 30 hours/week)
The ability to communicate effectively in Business English is a basic requirement for many corporate and public 
sector employees. We can help you to increase your ability to communicate effectively in Business English with professional courses designed to meet your individual needs and requirements. The lessons include Business English presentations, negotiations, writing, telephone conversations, and vocabulary. Levels range from Upper-Intermediate to Advanced.
Exam Preparation Courses (30 hours/week)
Jeffreys Bay Language School offers both First Certificate Exam (FCE) and Cambridge Advanced Exam (CAE) preparations. We recommend that students attend the full 12 weeks for these preparation courses, however those who wish to come for the shorter 10 week course do need a minimum of an upper intermediate level ability. These courses are offered subject to availability, a minimum of 2 students is required. Please note that the exam is written in Cape Town and is an extra cost to the preparation course. Jeffreys Bay Language School can assist students with exam, transport and accommodation bookings.
Private English Lessons
These one – on – one lessons are designed for two reasons. The one for complete beginners who may need extra assistance, the other for the more advanced student who wishes to hone his/her English skills accorded to specific needs. There is a minimum booking of 15 hours per week. If private lessons are booked with another course there is a minimum of 5 hours per week.
Aviation English Course ( 20 or 30 hours/week)
Aviation English is a course designed to assist pilots, ATC’s and trainee pilots to achieve English communication Skills necessary to comply with
ICAO level 4.
The course introduces Aviation English to the trainee pilot and assists them in preparing for ICAO level 4. It offers broad overviews of the terms and technical information related to flying and develops the trainee’s language acquisition skills to help them understand the new material being taught and apply it to their training.
