CELTA Certification Program:
Our CELTA program is 11 weeks lon
g including practicum (teaching practice). It is offered on a part-time basis to make the transition from one career to ESL teaching a little easier. However, although this course is offered on a part-time basis, students of the CELTA program must be prepared for a semi-intensive course.During the program, teacher-trainees are observed by their CELTA tutors, who grade their Teaching Practice lessons. Assessors from Cambridge inspect the course each time in order to ensure that quality is maintained in every CELTA program that is taught.
Days and Times:
Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, 6:00pm - 10pm
*NB Trainees will need to do 3 observations of professional teachers for 1 hour 15 minutes on Wednesday mornings over the 11 weeks
Entry Requirements:
- Excellent command of the English language in all areas (CAE or equivalent for Second Language speakers)
- Aged 20 or over (exceptionally 18/19)
- University entrance level (High School Diploma)
- Completed Application Form
- Completed pre-interview tasks
- Interview with Sol Schools Toronto Head of CELTA Programme
Please note that although admission into the program does not require a university degree, to teach English in Canada (TESL Canada certified) and in some countries around the world, a university degree is required.
