TEFL / TESL Diploma Program in Victoria, BC

inlingua Victoria College of English and TESL:
Centrally located in downtown Victoria BC, Inlingua Victoria provides an intensive 120-hour TESL / TEFL Teacher Training Diploma Program for students looking to teach English as a Second Language (ESL) at home or abroad. The program includes 100 hours of intensive and comprehensive ESL methodologies, lesson planning, resources and job search skills. Student teachers also complete 20-hours of hands on teaching with ESL students from around the world who are attending our English Language Programs in Victoria.

Intensive 120-hour TEFL / TESL Teacher Training Diploma Program
The TESL Diploma Program includes 100 hours of intensive and comprehensive ESL methodologies, lesson planning, resources and job search skills. Student teachers also complete a 20-hour teaching practicum with ESL students from around the world who are attending our English Language Programs in Victoria.

Part (1) Classroom instruction (100-hours)
-  Interactive lectures and activities outline the theory for each module.
- Students will be asked to prepare several peer-teaching sessions.
- Evaluation is based on homework, assignments, exams, and participation.

Part (2): Practice teaching (20-hours)
Under supervision of a mentor teacher, after an initial period of observation, students will be required to teach ESL classes. Students will progress gradually from observation through assisting the mentor teacher to teaching the ESL class for an extended period of time.

- Module 8: Making the classroom work – Class dynamics
- Module 9: Finding your first ESL job – TESL or TEFL
- Module 10: Going solo – Tutoring in ESL/EFL
