Teaching House - Los Angeles:
Located in the center of Torrance, in the South Bay region of Los Angeles County, Teaching House-Los Angeles provides a comprehensive 4-week CELTA (Certificate in English Language Teaching for Adults) training course. The program is hosted at GEOS English Academy in the Village Del Amo shopping center, a conveniently located, well equipped center, less than fifteen minutes from away from Santa Monica, Hermosa, and Redondo Beaches. Teaching House is a TESOL certification and teacher training school based in New York City. Training about 500 teachers every year, Teaching House is one of the largest CELTA centers in the USA.

4-Week CELTA Course:
Successful trainees of our courses are awarded a University of Cambridge CELTA, which stands for Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults. CELTA certificate courses are administered by the University of Cambridge and run at language centers all over the world. Each course follows a curriculum designed by Cambridge University. To complete the course and achieve CELTA certification, candidates must fulfill certain requirement as set out by the CELTA curriculum.

Teachers who have gained their CELTA are able to teach in colleges and language centers in the US or abroad. CELTA Assessment:
There is no final examination on the CELTA. The assessment is continuous (throughout the course) and integrated (all components count towards the final grade). Assessment is based on candidates' evaluation throughout the course in the following two components:

- Teaching practice
- Written assignments

You are also required to maintain a portfolio of your work during the course. The course is assessed in accordance with University of Cambridge ESOL guidelines. Individual tutorials are held with trainees to monitor and discuss progress. You’ll also be informed of your progress through feedback of your teaching practice and written assignments.
