CELTA English Teacher Training Certificate:
4-week, full-time, intensive TEFL course.
The Cambridge CELTA course leads to an internationally recognised qualification, and is intended for those without previous teaching experience who would like to enter the profession of English language teaching to adults.
During the course, you will learn about the principles of effective teaching, and a variety of essential practical skills for teaching English to adult learners. You will have hands-on teaching practice, observe experienced teachers in the classroom, and complete 4 written assignments.
Modules include:
- Language skills: reading, listening, speaking and writing
- Learners & teachers / the teaching & learning context
- Developing teaching skills and professionalism
- Planning and resources for different contexts
- Language analysis and awareness
Teaching Practice:
Participants teach for a total of 6 hours, working with classes at two different levels of ability. Assessment is based on your overall performance at the end of the 6 hours.
Written Assignments:
Students complete 4 written assignments: 1) Adult learners and learning contexts. 2) An aspect of the language system of English. 3) An aspect of language skills. 4) Classroom teaching and the identification of action points.
