English Teacher In London:
Do you want to improve your English language skills? I can help you with online or face to face lessons. For many people living in this great city improving their English is a key part of their own personal development. Of course, there are many good language schools in London and Bournemouth. Some find, however, that learning in classrooms of 10 or 12 other learners is not ideal and attending a school everyday doesn’t fit in with their busy schedules. I am a fully qualified native English language teacher who has helped many people improve their English language skills from undergraduates to senior business executives. Pronunciation and Accent Reduction:
Pronunciation is an important but sometimes overlooked area of language learning. You can have perfect grammar and a wide vocabulary but with poor pronunciation your ability to be understood will be severely affected. Of course, the main factors behind your pronuciation challenges arise from your first, native language.

No language learning can ever repeat the effectiveness of the childhood learning of your native language. This applies to pronounciation as much as any aspect. When trying to make certain sounds in English you will be fighting against your natural instincts.We will work together to find out which words and sounds are making it more difficult for people to understand you and then work on these to give you good clear alround spoken English. I have worked with Russian, Polish, Slovakian, Indonesian, Chinese, Italian, Korean, Japanese, Spanish, Turkish, Indian learners and many more besides.Improving your pronunciation can be fun and my sessions are aimed at being just that. They naturally consist mainly of conversation but we also spend time trying to understand where and how each of the sounds are made. Accent reduction is similar to pronunciation but concentrates more on disguising your native language.

Writing:
Help is here! There are many people who have developed their spoken English to a good level but who struggle when it comes to writing. As a fully qualified English teacher, who was formerly a journalist, editor and publisher, I am in a great position to help you develop this important skill. Whether it is for business, academic or for other uses I use techniques that have been proven to help learners quickly improve their writing abilities. Sometimes learners have face to face meetings other times I provided feedback and support online and by email.I have helped people to develop their email and letter communication as well as their creative writing abilities. The tuition is presented in a challenging but enjoyable way and includes detailed feedback on your writing. I will help you remove those errors made with the small but important articles (a/an/the) as well as prepositions.

You will understand the difference between formal and informal writing and gain a greater understanding of how good sentences are constructed. When is it appropriate to use a passive sentence and when will only an active one do? I will also help you boost your vocabulary.

As well as our time together you will be given writing tasks to complete and I will be available to give you help and advice online and to answer specific questions that may arise in between our meetings.

I can help you with specific pieces of writing like CVs, letters, essays, reports etc and I offer a competitively priced proofreading service. I have also helped many students boost their IELTS and Cambridge exam results.

IELTS:
IELTS is the International English Language Testing System. It measures ability to communicate in English across all four language skills – listening, reading, writing and speaking – for people who intend to study or work where English is the language of communication.

I have a great record of boosting exam takers scores, enabling them to secure the grade they need. Most achieve 6.5 or 7.0 in the exam after spending time with me in the run up to the test day. Of course my help needs to be matched with your hard work as well.

The practice materials I use are focussed on getting a good result and the practice tests are genuine past IELTS papers. You will learn the techniques to feel confident and relaxed during the speaking test and your writing will match exactly what is needed.

We will work to eliminate those little errors like prepositions, articles and when to use the ‘…ing’ form and when to use infinitives. The techniques required for correctly describing graphs will also feature.
