Boarding Facilities:

Photo of College Prep Boarding School in Portland, ORThe boys' and girls' dorms are warm, homey places. The residence halls feature large double rooms equipped with access to the school's computer network.

Cozy fireplaces and table games in the lounges encourage community life, and indoor and outdoor athletic facilities are easily accessible to the boarders. Faculty who live in the dorms are affectionately called "dorm parents," a title that refers to their responsibility and their special relationship with the boarding students.

International Students:
Over the years, international students have come to OES from as far away as Africa, Asia, Europe, and South America.

With over half of our boarding students coming from different countries, we enter the 21st Century with a rich multicultural community. This is nothing new to OES, for we have welcomed international students to our community for nearly a century.

Host Family Program:
Host families are an important part of the Residential Life Program at OES. The Host Family Program connects dorm and day students outside of the classroom, and broadens the opportunity for cultural exchange. It is our hope that the dorm students will gain a “home” away from home; learn more about Portland, and experience “family.”

Host families also experience reward in meeting a student from a different part of the world and learning about what it is like to live away from home. Through this program, relationships are built that will take you beyond graduation.

Our Values:

OES provides the next generation of global leaders with the skills needed to thrive in a changing world:

- The ability to work effectively as part of a team in a collaborative community
- The ability to engage with people from across the U.S. and around the world
- The ability to think critically and communicate clearly
- The ability to make sound ethical decisions
- The ability to understand and appreciate the diversity of the world’s religious traditions
