Hawthorne Christian Academy:
The Hawthorne Christian Academy (HCA), located in Hawthorne, Passaic County, New Jersey, is an accredited, co-educational, college preparatory, private Christian school, serving students in Pre-school through 12th grade. The educational philosophy of the Hawthorne Christian Academy is consistent with that of the Hawthorne Gospel Church and is based on a God-centered view of truth and man as presented in the Bible. The educational objectives are grouped into four categories: the student’s spiritual and moral growth, personal and social development, academic advancement, and the school’s responsibility to the family from which the student comes.
As an outreach ministry of the Hawthorne Gospel Church, in partnership with parents, the mission of the Hawthorne Christian Academy is to train and nurture young people to spiritual maturity in Christ Jesus (Christians who are committed to worshipping and serving God with their lives.) With this ultimate purpose, the Academy seeks to meet the learning needs of and to educate its students to their fullest potential, while instilling within them the value of lifelong learning.
Affiliation & Accreditation:
Hawthorne Christian Academy, a ministry of the Hawthorne Gospel Church, is accredited by both the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) and the Middle States Association of College and Schools. The Academy is also a member of the Northern New Jersey Christian School Association and the Mid-Atlantic Christian Schools Association, Inc.
History:
Under the guidance of God and upon the recommendation of the Church Board, the congregation of the Hawthorne Gospel Church voted in March of 1980 to begin the Hawthorne Christian Academy in September of 1981. Grades K-7 were offered in the fall of 1981 with 72 in attendance. Grade 8 was added the following year.
In March of 1984 the congregation approved the starting of grade 9 in September of 1985, with a new grade to be added each year. In June of 1989, the Academy graduated its first senior class. It was projected that a second section would be added to each grade until 1998 when all grade levels would have double sections. In God’s timing and with His tremendous blessing, this took place six years sooner than anticipated, in 1992. In 1996, school wide accreditation was granted by the Association of Christian Schools International and the Middle States.

The Learning Experience® (TLE) in Readington in Hunterdon County, NJ is a state of the art child development center, open year-round from 6:30 am - 6:30pm, taking children from the ages of 6 weeks to 8 years. We offer a state certified full day kindergarden program with small class sizes, large colorful classrooms and a dynamic curriculum. We have limited places available for September.The Learning Experience® was established in the state of Florida in 1979 by Michael and Linda Weissman. Located in New Egypt, Plumsted Township, Ocean County, New Jersey, Sweet Music Academy offers music, dance, yoga and martial arts programs for children and teenagers. Classes are available as group or private lessons. With two locations in New Egypt, Ocean County and Howell, Monmouth County, we educate students in these disciplines throughout Ocean, Monmouth and Mercer Counties. As part of our music lessons we teach piano, guitar, drums, cello, voice. We teach different styles including rock, heavy metal, jazz and we help build students confidence and vocal skills by organizing special music sessions and performance workshops throughout the year. Our dance programs consist of pre-ballet, ballet, jazz modern and creative tap.
Students learn discipline, alignment, movement vocabulary and choreography in a fun and creative way. As part of our martial arts program we teach various weapon styles, such as Japanese Sword, Medieval European Sword, Bo Staff, Nunchaku, Pole-arm, Knife work, and more.

HearMyHands provides American Sign Language workshops, classes and tutoring for all ages (babies, infants, children/students and adults) in the South/Central Jersey area.Kristy, owner, is a speech language pathologist with an extensive background in American Sign Language (ASL)and Augmentative Alternative Communication (AAC). She is a masters level certified Signing Time instructor in South Jersey and has been a member of the Sign2Me Presenters Network since 2006. She currently provides workshops for school district, local groups and other organizations teaching sign language as a language and as an alternative tool for communication.
