Auckland International College:
Established in 2003, Auckland International College is a New Zealand independent day and boarding school which offers a specialised 3-year senior secondary school education. The specific focus of the school is to prepare students for entry to top universities worldwide. As an IB World School it is the only NZ school to offer the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma exclusively.
IB Diploma Programme (Year 12 & 13):
The IB Diploma Programme was created to provide a high school leaving qualification which would enable students to gain entry into universities throughout the world. It is a demanding course designed for able students aged 16-19 years. While highly academic, the programme aims to educate the whole person, helping students to become independent, caring and critical thinkers. Through the ‘CAS’ programme, all students must give their time to provide service to others in the community.
Student performance is graded according to criteria which are moderated internationally and consistent across all IB schools throughout the world. The broad concept of the IB curriculum ensures that students develop a well-rounded understanding, with each student selecting one subject from each of the groups shown in the hexagon diagram below.
Preparation Year Programme for IB Diploma (Year 11):
- Designed to prepare students with the knowledge and skills needed for the IB Diploma in Years 12 and 13
- Each student studies all subject areas in order to be able to make an informed and appropriate choice of subjects for the IB Diploma
- The programme consists of Literature, Language ( either Japanese, Chinese, French or English), Sciences, Mathematics, Global Studies (Economics, History and Geography), Computer Science, Art, Creativity Service and Health, Research Project and SAT Preparation.
PSAT, SAT & ACT Testing:
At AIC we understand how important standardised tests (PSAT/SAT/ACT) can be when applying to universities in the United States. We provide advice and assistance with SAT preparation, and we make practice tests available for students who want to gain experience in test-like conditions.
Our university entrance preparation programme offers specialist university counsellors, SAT preparation and interview coaching, giving AIC students the best preparation for the top universities. Our students have the additional advantage of going to a school that is also a test centre for the PSAT and four of the seven possible SAT test dates. We are also Auckland’s only ACT test centre.

Located in Christchurch, New Zealand, this is a boarding and day school of the highest quality. Rangi Ruru Girls' School is one of New Zealand's top achieving schools, offering independent Intermediate (Year 7 and 8) and Secondary (Years 9 to 13) education for Day and Boarding students.
