Our Lady of Grace Catholic School:
Our Lady of Grace Catholic School, located in Greensboro, North Carolina, is a private Catholic school offering programs from Pre-K through Grade 8. At the heart of our curriculum is the study of our Catholic Faith. Because Religion is the very reason for our existence it would follow that a focal point of this information is the course of study offered in our Religion classes. In all other areas of the curriculum, the Diocese of Charlotte aligns itself with the Standard Course of Study as outlined by the State of North Carolina.
Our Lady of Grace Catholic School is fully accredited by AdvancED through the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) and the Council on Accreditation and School Improvement (CASI). OLG is also an institutional member in good standing of the National Catholic Education Association (NCEA).
Our Educational Focus:
All of our students receive instruction in the key areas of Religious Education, Reading, Language Arts and Literature, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, Music, Physical Education, Art, Spanish, Computer Technology and Library Media Skills. We follow the Religion curriculum of the Diocese of Charlotte, and the academic curriculum of the State of North Carolina. The Learning Support Program is offered to those students who have identified learning needs.
Facilities:
Facilities include two main buildings. The original school building serves grades K-5 and houses the computer lab, resource teacher's office, and the PTO office. The upper school building contains classrooms for grades 6-8, the gymnasium, a dining area with hot lunch facilities, the media center, the guidance counselor's office, the physical education teachers' office, the Assistant to the Principal's office, and the Principal's office. Music classes are held in Our Lady's Cottage, which is adjacent to the original school building.
The Media Center houses a collection of over 8,000 volumes for checkout by the students on a weekly basis and offers an online catalog search capability over the Spectrum system.
