Hickory Grove Christian School, Charlotte:
Located in the Hickory Ridge suburb east of Charlotte in Mecklenburg County NC, Hickory Grove Christian School is a fully-accredited K5 - 12th Grade, Christ-centered, college preparatory school that offers a full range of grade level, honors and AP courses. Elementary School Curriculum
The love of Christ can truly be felt in the Elementary School at HGCS. You will find warm, loving Christian educators whose responsibility is to integrate a Biblically-based education into the lives of every student on a daily basis. Students are engaged in learning through both secular and Christian curriculum.

The Elementary Curriculum includes:
- A bible curriculum that teaches a biblical worldview. Students are helped to formulate a biblical perspective of the world and then live accordingly
- A reading and language arts program that emphasizes reading skills to enhance all subject areas, along with mechanics and writing applications.
- A math curriculum that includes a study of patterns, number computation, geometry, fractions, measurement, critical thinking and problem solving.
- Social Studies that covers geography, history, government and economics.
- Science curriculum that encourages students to predict, interpret, and apply critical thinking applications to content.
- Computers, music, art, Spanish and physical education classes.

Middle School Curriculum
The Middle School day includes six fifty minute classes and a thirty minute lunch period. Students end their day with a forty minute study hall or specialty class. Please visit the curriculum section of our website to get a description of the courses that students are offered.

Our Athletic program offers Football, Volleyball, Softball, Baseball, Soccer, Cheerleading, Golf, Basketball and Swimming. Our growing Fine Arts program offers Art, Chorus, Drama, and Band.

High School Curriculum
The college preparatory High School curriculum is designed to challenge the student to his/her maximum potential by focusing on instructional strategies that will engage students and encourage the development of critical thinking skills. HGCS offers an array of advanced placement courses, a full honors track as well as a variety of electives.

HGCS students are encouraged to participate in our fine arts and athletic programs. We currently offer an assortment of art classes and performing arts classes. Athletically, we have established programs with over 450 participants. The fine arts and athletic programs offer opportunities for students to continue to build harmonious relationships with their peers.
