Rock University, Charlotte:
Located in Concord NC, just 30 minutes northeast of Charlotte, Rock University is a independently-owned and operated music school that specializes in teaching and motivating musicians of all ages through affordable music programs. Our main focus is on our 'Performance Band' program for kids ages 7-18, a unique teaching method that is a fun way to learn, develop team skills and show off what you have learned in public. In addition to this flagship program, we also offer individual music lessons for both kids and adults, a 10-day Rock Summer Camp, rehearsal rentals for bands, as well as special workshops and seminars hosted by music industry professionals.

Music & Performance Programs for Kids & Adults:

Performance-Based Band Program (Ages 7-18)
Unlike traditional music lessons, our Performance-Based Band Program teaches kids how to play an instrument, as well as how to perform with a band on stage. The ability to play music with their peers, and the opportunity to perform in front of live audiences, helps to motivate students to take their music training seriously and dream big. Our students work their way from our lessons to the Performance Band into our elite Roadshow group which is hired to perform all over town to hundreds of fans.

- Admission Requirements:
To attend the performance band  program, the student should have a basic understanding of the instrument, although improvement will come with practice and from the influences of the other kids in the band.

- Rock U Roadshow:
Once a student learns to play an instrument, how to play music with others in a band, and how to perform in front of an audience, Rock University's professional artists and instructors encourage students to move from lessons in class to playing in one of our real Rock U house bands.

- Facilities & Instructors:
Our facilities include a complete performance stage, several practice rooms, and a full complement of music equipment from instruments to professional audio systems.  Our instructors are professional musicians and performers that are active in local bands in Charlotte and take pride in being able to help to train, and more importantly, inspire the next generation of musicians.

Private Music Lessons (Beginner to Advanced Levels, All Ages)
We provide 30-minute to 60-minute private music lessons for both kids and adults, which are conducted by our professional and experienced instructors. Instruments include Guitar, Bass Guitar, Drums, Vocals and Keyboards. In addition to conducting music lessons in our facilities, we also offer private music lessons at your home.
