Allegro Music Academy, Sarasota:
Allegro Music Academy, located near the Sarasota Airport, Sarasota, Florida, is a music, etiquette and dance school offering private instruction in violin, cello, piano, voice, guitar, wind, string, etiquette, & dance to children and adults. We offer private or group lessons on any musical instrument as well as dance, voice and etiquette classes with university trained teachers.

Violin Instruction:
Children can start violin lessons as early as 5 years old. The two most common methods of teaching the violin are traditional & Suzuki. The Suzuki Violin method is used for our youngest students. They learn many concepts by ear first, & can play a song within the first few months of lessons.

Being able to play a song as quickly as possible, keeps the student motivated. After a year or two with the Suzuki system, students switch over to the traditional method. Later on, students can study fiddling or bluegrass which are different styles of country music.

Piano Instruction:
Children can start piano lessons as early as 5 years old. We combine The Suzuki and traditional methods of teaching our youngest students. There are many good books published in teaching beginning piano. For beginning students we recommend The Alfred or Bastien methods. They are both good methods, and either one can be used.

These books have age appropriate material, so that an adult beginner and a child beginner are taught at the proper level for their intellectual development. Both of these series also have fun supplemental theme books, such as cowboy, jazz, and pop books etc. Teachers will advise students of their preferences.

Guitar Classes:
Our beginning guitar classes introduce students to the fundamentals of playing the guitar. Through an exploration of the music elements (rhythm, melody, harmony, timbre), each student develops musicianship at their own pace. Every class involves individual attention & learning to work with others in a musical group.

Performance opportunities are also offered for participants. Ages 8 years old & up are welcome to attend classes.

Etiquette Classes:

Summer Camp:
Children are taught rhythm, coordination, & concentration through various methods including Orff based principals. Our activities involve developing an awareness of rhythm through movement games and singing games. We also use many percussion instruments such as drums, shakers, rhythm sticks, triangles, etc.
