Cotter Schools:
Located in Winona MN, one hour east of Rochester, Cotter High School is a Catholic boarding and day college preparatory school for boys and girls in grades 7-12, with boarding from 9th Grade on. Our diverse school community includes students with a wide range nationalities, talents and interests.

We offer a rigorous college preparatory curriculum with English, math, science, social studies, foreign languages, computer science and pysical education.

We provide the best education we can give to our students during the time they need it most. Academic excellence creates results This past year, nearly 100 percent of Cotter’s nighth, ninth, and tenth graders passed the state required writing tests.

College Preparation Courses:
We offer intensive ACT and SAT prep courses.  We are very proud that the top 50% of ACT composite scores for the graduates of the past five years averaged at the 88th percentile nationally.

Advanced Placment Courses:
AP courses include Linear Algebra,  Human Biology, Honors Spanish 6, Honors Spanish 5, Honors Spanish 4, Honors Physics 2, Honors Physics 1, Honors Microeconomics, Honors Chemistry, Electronics/ Robotics, Computer Programming, Java Computer Programming C++, AP US History, AP Literature & Composition, AP Language & Composition, AP Environmental Science, AP Calculus BC, AP Calculus AB.

Athletics:
Cotter’s co-curricular program provides students with positive and enjoyable experiences that develop the ideals of leadership, physical fitness, self-discipline, teamwork, sportsmanship, and ethical behavior. These activities are about so much more than simply “winning.”

Over the years, Cotter athletic teams have enjoyed much success. More importantly, our teams have played a critical role in the formation of character. Character matters. Perhaps now more than ever, it is critical for young people to learn how to work hard and become disciplined, fair, honest, team minded, and humble.

Good character may help win games, but it will also help in the long run to develop into responsible adults, who have meaningful friendships, self-confidence, and a sense of civic responsibility. Athletics and life are connected because good character matters to both.

Cotter’s state-of-the-art Fitness Center, with its wide variety of aerobic and strength equipment, allows both serious and recreational student-athletes to workout with their friends and teammates in an enjoyable and safe atmosphere.
