House of Hope Maryland, located in Silver Spring, MD (just 6 miles north of Washington, D.C.), is a co-ed boarding school for troubled teens aged 13-17. This 9-18 month program includes Bible-based spiritual counselling, a High School Diploma program, an Accelerated Christian Educational (ACE) program, and other features.
Co-educational Boarding Program for Troubled Teens Ages 13-17:
House of Hope Maryland is available to at-risk teens between the ages of 13 to 17 years old and their families.
Currently, we provide Bible-based, pastoral-style counseling designed to help each child to accept responsibility, submit to authority and relate more effectively to peers and adults.

Life Skills:
Because the ultimate goal is to enable at-risk teenagers to become productive members of society, residents will learn vocational and life skills.
Teens will be assigned to specific household duties and other responsibilities that will yield performance and attitude rewards during their stay at House of Hope Maryland.
Additionally, teens will have the opportunity to enjoy a range of skill-building activities and hobbies to nurture their development.
Education:
Teens in our residential program will attend our on-campus school, Hope Academy, and participate in an individually designed educational format where one-on-one tutoring is available to assist in learning and to cultivate self esteem.
Students will use the Accelerated Christian Educational (ACE) program and will work at their own pace. It has been shown that students who are behind in their grade level when they arrive at House of Hope are able to make up and even excel in courses at their academic level.
This program offers a High School diploma and transferable credits if a student chooses to reintegrate into his/her high school.
Christian Counseling:
Weekly parent education classes and small group interaction, along with family counseling will become a vital component of the residential counseling program.
Even if communication between parents and the teen is challenging or nonexistent initially, our goal is reintegration and reconciliation of the family.

Turning Winds Academic Institute (TWAI)

Located in northwestern Montana, Turning Winds Academic Institute (TWAI) is an accredited, family-run, therapeutic boarding school for troubled teens (boys and girls) ages 13-18 from Maryland and across the United States.In our beautiful, peaceful, and safe location, we combine the benefits of a therapeutic boarding school, a wilderness program, and a residential treatment center (RTC).
TWAI has been serving struggling teens and their families since 2002, with an exceptional degree of success.
We provide an extremely high standard of therapeutic treatment to our students, and offer help for the following presenting issues: poor academic performance, behavioral problems, addictions, low self-worth, spectrum disorders, ADD/ADHD, and attachment disorders among others.
With a passion for helping young people in crisis, our clinical, educational, and operations staff are among the best in the country.
We are a small program (40 students) which means that we are able to provide a truly unique and customized approach for every student.
Typically our on site student to staff ratio is 5:1. The average stay at our residential treatment center is 12 months.
