Language Immersion Summer Camps in Massachusetts
Lawrence Academy Language Immersion Program for U.S. Students:
Lawrence Academy in Groton, northwestern Middlesex County, MA (1 hour northwest of Boston) is a traditional New England prep school offering 2-4 week residential Mandarin Chinese & Italian Summer Immersion Programs to American students in 7th-12th grades. Study Mandarin or Italian while living on campus alongside international students from China, Italy, and around the world who will study English and American culture. Prior Chinese or Italian knowledge is not required for American students.
Language Immersion Summer Programs for American Students (7th-12th grades):
The residential program gives American students, entering grades 7-12, a chance to study Mandarin or Italian for 2, 3, or 4 weeks while living on campus alongside students from Italy, China, and around the world. 
The program is divided into classroom instruction, off-campus cultural activities, on-campus sports/arts/specialty instruction, evening enrichment activities, and weekend excursions.
Students practice their language skills with their new international friends while participating in evening language enrichment activities (skits or talent shows, bowling, mini-golf, etc.). Weekend excursions to Boston, NYC, the beach, or an amusement park allow for additional opportunities to practice language skills and develop lifelong friendships.
There is no Italian or Mandarin proficiency level needed; beginners are welcome.
Cultural and Campus Activities:
Afternoon Activities: On and off campus activities enable students to have contin
uous opportunities to practice their language skills. The programs offered change weekly, allowing students to try many different activities. For on-campus days: students can choose the activities in which they will participate with International students. The activities will provide students with an opportunity to improve their communications skills while enjoying social time.
Activities include: tennis, basketball, soccer, robotics, theater, art, music, swimming, photography, and computers, softball, field hockey, dance, outdoor adventure, writing, and many more. Not all activities are available each week.
Evening Enrichment: Students assemble in small groups to participate in hands-on activities that demand individual participation and language practice. The activities will be experimental endeavors that allow students to explore a wider range of subjects and skills than is possible in our academic program. The range of activities will vary. For example, students may work on a theater production or travel to an off-campus recreational activity.
Weekend Program: Weekends allow the students to travel throughout the New England area to explore American historical, cultural, and recreational sites. Each weekend provides a mix of these types of trips to ensure that students find their visits enjoyable as well as educational. There is an additional charge for the optional weekend trip to New York City.

LOOP Abroad is an exclusive study abroad summer program for high school students between the ages of 15 and 18. We spend 2 days in Boston, MA before leaving for Thailand.This summer's program is focused on ecology and conservation, and will take place in Chiang Mai, Thailand. Chiang Mai offers a chance to explore authentic Thai culture and fantastically diverse national parks, while still having modern amenities and world-class health facilities close at hand. Twenty students will live with eight faculty in a private hostel in a gated community.
During the day, the group will explore national parks, mountains, rain forests, and caves, and will publish their findings in an online wiki. Thai language classes, visits to city sites, yoga classes, and other cultural activities fill the rest of our weekdays. Faculty will help students to compose college essays about their experiences. A leadership curriculum is offered.
On the weekends, we head to activities like zip-lining, the tiger nursery, go-karts, the rooftop pool, thai cooking, and Muay Thai.. Highlights include a week living at the Elephant Nature Park and a four-day trek, staying overnight with the Karen Hill Tribe people.
Musica Vesuviana (MV) offers an international summer music program in Italy for Italian and American student instrumentalists and vocalists of high school age. This 2-week camp takes place at the Fondazione Passarelli in Salerno, south-western Italy. Salerno is situated less than 30 miles south of Naples and 145 miles south of Rome.Musica Vesuviana´s curriculum includes an eclectic mix of American and Italian music and musical styles, taught by American and native master teachers. All students will be involved in performances at the institute as well as in the surrounding communities, where they will be able to share their music as well immerse themselves in the rich and varied artistic culture that Italy has to offer.
Any student who is interested in music, whether it is Classical, Gospel, Jazz, Rock, Pop, or Contemporary would thrive at Musica Vesuviana. Students will have the opportunity to meet and make music with students from other states and countries. The classes will be taught in English. However, all students will immerse themselves in daily lessons of conversational Italian language taught by a native instructor.
As we are based in Massachusetts, our departure is from Boston's Logan Airport where students are accompanied by all the staff members. Upon our arrival in Naples, we will be met by an air-conditioned coach that will transport us and our luggage to the Fondazione Passarelli.

Boston Leadership Institute is located in Wellesley, 15 miles west of downtown Boston in Massachusetts, and provides summer enrichment programs for high school students including Applied Physics, Biological Research, STEM Entrepreneurship, Engineering, Psychology, and Neuroscience.Teens from the US and abroad explore Boston and engage in classroom or laboratory activities during the three-week summer programs. Every summer, Phillips Exeter Academy in Exeter, New Hampshire welcomes to campus some 750 students for five weeks of academic study, athletics, and exploration that carry participants far beyond the classrooms and the playing fields.
