Based in the historic Colosseum area of Rome, Kappa Language School provides basic beginner to advanced level Italian language courses to students and professionals from around the world.

We offer summer Italian courses, a specialized spring program, year-round general Italian courses, intensive courses, PLIDA Italian language certification classes, private Italian lessons. A Homestay option with an Italian family is also available as part of your studies.

Kappa is a member of the Dante Alighieri Society network, and was created to promote Italian language and culture among international students, expats and professionals in Rome. In addition to our language courses, we also arrange cultural events and guided tours of the city.

12. Eyes on Italy, Rome

Immerse yourself in the Italian language and culture this summer! Located in the historic city of Rome, Eyes on Italy is an Italian Language & Culture Summer School that provides an immersion program for foreign university students and young professionals who want to learn Italian Language and culture. Each program has a duration of two weeks.

We offer an integrated course that brings together Italian language learning and culture discovery in order to give its students a deep vision of “Italianity” and the sense of belonging to the “Bel Paese”. The key point of the characteristics of the program, on which we work side by side with the University of Rome “Tor Vergata”, is to fulfill foreign university students’ and young professionals’ needs to learn Italian language with customized programs.

• Istituto Europeo di Design (IED) in Milan offers 2 and 3-week summer programs in Design, Fashion and Creative Arts at introductory and advanced levels.

• For over thirty years, IED has been operating in the fields of Education and Research. Today it is an international network with schools in Milan, Rome, Turin, Madrid, Barcelona and São Paulo.

• Our Summer programs take place in July, are taught in English and generally last three weeks. They are a perfect solution for those who desire to combine their spare time during holidays with a new stimulating experience.

14. The Florence Art Studio
Courses / Programs
Located in the heart of the historic city center, The Florence Art Studio provides intensive art programs taught in English to international students from around the world. We offer customized courses that aim to teach the fundamentals of drawing and painting from life.

Choose to study for 1, 2, 3, or 4 weeks or longer.

Our programs can be divided into six discrete and sequential, progressive modules, each of which can be studied from one week to one month or longer. Alternatively, each module can be taken as a stand-alone course.

The majority of our students are adult professionals of all backgrounds and levels - from complete beginner to advanced - who are passionate about Florence, Renaissance, Painting and Drawing.

Students work within a structured environment, under the guidance of an instructor who personally monitors their progress and development for three hours a day, and the remaining time is structured with other activity.

The program is intensively taught in an encouraging environment, with a great deal of personal attention given to each student, through intensive individual training and one on one lessons.

The Studio is situated on Via Ghibellina, only a few steps from the main historic and artistic places of interest in the center of the city.

15. Go Inspired - Commedia dell'Arte Summer Course
Courses / Programs
Go Inspired is a US-based cultural exchange company that looks for unique, creative opportunities to explore the world. We offer a fun, theater-based 3-week Summer course in Florence, Italy where students can discover the world of 'Commedia dell’Arte'. The course is geared toward understanding the theatrical experience as a fun and useful game for developing your own creativity and expressiveness.

The course will take place in Florence and combine body expression/language and acting. Participants will have the opportunity to learn about the characters of Commedia and to dance to a choreographed Renaissance noble Italian dance. There is also the possibility of doing a performance in Florence.

3-week Summer Course in Florence where students discover the world of Commedia dell’Arte:

16. School for Curatorial Studies, Venice

The School for Curatorial Studies is an ambitious and challenging project promoted since 2004 and conceived as a school committed to experimentation and interdisciplinary thinking. The main goals are to spread the knowledge in the field of visual arts and to introduce the students to the professions related to the art world, focusing on contemporary curatorial theory and practice and contemporary museology. The School’s activities are meant for all those interested and passionate in art, graduated students or professionals who want to deepen their knowledge and improve their practical skills.

The School’s teaching staff is formed by Italian and international professionals, scholars, historians and art critics of recognized experience. Among them: Matt Williams (curator), Filippo Lotti (Sotheby’s), Chiara Barbieri (Peggy Guggenheim Collection), Francesca Colasante (Pinault Collection), Andrea Goffo (Found. Prada), Nicola Lees (Serpentine London).
The program:
The Summer School in Curatorial Practice will take place during the International Biennale Venice. With an interdisciplinary approach, the course provides practical training and experience within museums and exhibition settings. Its international faculty includes curators and museum professionals, artists and critics. 
17. Organic Tuscany Cooking School
Courses / Programs
• Based in the heart of Tuscany, three miles outside the medieval town of Certaldo, Organic Tuscany Cooking School offers specialized cooking weeks in a magnificent 19th century villa.

• Our classes are “from farm to table”: taking the participants to see where the fresh, local, organic food we buy is grown and using it to cook traditional Tuscan and Italian recipes: fresh pastas, hearty soups, tasty salads, the perfect risotto and delectable desserts. The programs also includes wine-tasting and walking tours with official guides in Florence and Siena.

• Some of the cooking courses are vegetarian, and others can be vegetarian friendly. Free with the course is an e-book with over 60 recipes and photos of the dishes you learned during the week and many others reflecting the Tuscan seasons.

• Accommodation will be in a magnificent 19th century villa, where the cooking classes will also take place.

18. Sarteano Chamber Choral Workshop - Young Adult/teen Division
Courses / Programs
Sarteano Chamber Choral Workshop - Young Adult/Teen Division, is a summer workshop in Italy designed for the singer, conductor or music educator who loves singing and working in a chamber choral setting. We are an intensive music workshop. All of our tutors teach at the University level. The workshop is located in Sarteano, a picturesque hill town in the Siena province of Tuscany, dotted with palazzi and overlooked by a medieval castle. The workshop and final concert will be held in the centro storico (historic center), a pedestrian area of small winding streets, quaint homes, lovely stores, and fine restaurants. With its magical Renaissance ambiance, Sarteano is the perfect place to come to sing chamber choral music. You will be part of a twenty-six to twenty-eight voice group that will perform a capella choral music from madrigals to the twentieth century. Experience the joy of creating music on the highest level, working with other committed and talented young musicians, and learning the inner workings and dynamics of intensive chamber ensemble performance.
Summer Workshop in Italy designed for the Singer, Conductor or Music Educator:

There are three possible tiers of participation:
- Full Conductor,
- Conducting Auditor or
- Singer (serious singers ages 15 – 20, who are looking for a strong chamber ensemble experience).

Participants under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or chaperone. The main language used in the workshop is English.
19. Messors Workshops - Cultural Heritage Conservation and Restoration in Italy
Courses / Programs
Messors Workshops offers 15-day summer Art Conservation Workshops on Fresco and Canvas, based in the rich cultural and historical setting of Altamura, Gravina in Puglia and Matera, in Southern Italy.  We are 27 miles southwest of Bari (airport BRI).

The Frescoes are part of the rupestrian settlements (underground habitations) located in the Alta Murgia area in the Puglia region of Italy. Private collections provide canvases.

Under tutelage of program director Tonio Creanza participants are introduced to principles and methodology for the conservation of frescoes and paintings on canvas, experiencing the process of restoration as it unfolds.

Participants will also review the completed and restored works of past projects: 17th-century wood statues, decorative paintings and stone reliefs, exterior and interior frescoes, and paintings in both private collections.

The courses provide a practical focus, allowing students ample opportunity for participation in restoration technique, and are complemented by seminars in Art History, Geomorphological Studies and Iconography.
