La Lumiere School shapes the complete student in character, scholarship, and faith. The core of our mission is to nurture and develop the whole individual in an academically challenging environment.
This foundation provides La Lumiere graduates with a distinct advantage over most of their peers: they are trained to think critically, articulate clearly, and take action confidently -- with a solid awareness of morals and values.
Students are known by faculty, staff and other students from all grades. This familiarity enables them to make lasting connections, engage in academics, participate socially, and define their path.
Weekly activities, compulsory after school activities, a distinctive theater program, and a competitive science team provide opportunities for students to explore their interests outside the classroom. A diverse campus population completes the La Lumiere experience.
La Lumiere School is accredited by Independent Schools Association of the Central States (ISACS) and the North Central Association (NCA) and is a member of the Catholic Boarding Schools Association (CBSA), the National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS), the Midwest Boarding Schools Association (MWBS), and The Association of Boarding Schools (TABS).

The principles of character, scholarship and faith are the threads woven through the La Lumiere experience, whether in the classroom, on the playing field, or in the community. We expect a lot from our students.
Students' days and weeks are filled with school activities, helping them to structure their time, and make the most of their high-school experience. In addition to academics, athletics, activities and community service each play an important role in a students' day-to-day experience at La Lumiere. Some of the activities students can participate in are 11 varsity sports, our award-winning arts program, and our Science Olympiad team.
La Lumiere's commitment to preparing students for college has resulted in a 100% college placement record. The College Counseling office educates La Lumiere students in the process of decision-making with the goal of helping students find colleges where they will be challenged, where they will be happy, and where they will succeed.
We attempt to do this with as little stress and pressure on students as possible. We want students to find the best colleges for each of them individually.
To accomplish these goals, we provide each student with the one-to-one assistance of the College Counselor. In recent years, students have been accepted to schools such as Purdue University, Stanford University, Indiana University, University of Notre Dame, DePaul University, University of Michigan, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, Loyola University Chicago, Butler University, Knox College, Creighton University and Michigan State.
