Upon enrollment, Brehm conducts a thorough assessment of each student’s needs, strengths, and challenges, which results in an Individualized Holistic Education Plan(IHEP). Designed around the way each child learns best, this plan integrates academic, social, and emotional strategies into a comprehensive program designed to educate the whole child and unlock his or her potential for lifelong learning.

Turning Winds Academic Institute (TWAI)

Located in northwestern Montana, Turning Winds Academic Institute (TWAI) is an accredited, family-run, therapeutic boarding school for troubled teens (boys and girls) ages 13-18.

We welcome students from Illinois, across the United States, and students from around the world (TWAI is authorized to issue 1-20's for international students).

In our beautiful, peaceful, and safe location, we combine the benefits of a therapeutic boarding school, a wilderness program, and a residential treatment center (RTC).

TWAI has been serving struggling teens and their families since 2002, with an exceptional degree of success.

We provide an extremely high standard of therapeutic treatment to our students, and offer help for the following presenting issues: poor academic performance, behavioral problems, addictions, low self-worth, spectrum disorders, ADD/ADHD, and attachment disorders among others.

With a passion for helping young people in crisis, our clinical, educational, and operations staff are among the best in the country.

We are a small program (40 students) which means that we are able to provide a truly unique and customized approach for every student.

Typically our on site student to staff ratio is 5:1. The average stay at our residential treatment center is 12 months.

We create a customized program for each student that requires a minimum of 3 months. However, best results for lasting success are realized through 6+ months of treatment.

TWAI graduates average a 3.5 GPA. It is common for a student to complete 1.5 years of course work in 1 year.
Salem4youth Therapeutic Christian Boarding School
Courses / Programs
Based in Flanagan, Illinois, Salem4youth is a Christian Therapeutic Boarding School for troubled boys and young men in Grades 3-12.

We offer an educational program that is specifically structured to support the supervision and training of students that have special challenges.

These challenges can include emotional and behavioral problems, learning difficulties, lack of motivation and other difficulties that may be the result of self-harming or other detrimental behaviors, including drug and alcohol use. As a Christian Boarding School, our therapy is Biblical-based.

We combine our educational program with equine therapy. Using horses therapeutically and vocationally, boys receive riding instructions and are given the responsibility to care for the horses. The relationships developed with our horses help each young man develop self-esteem, control, and responsibility.

Oneida Baptist Institute
Courses / Programs
Oneida Baptist Institute (OBI), located a small rural village in the mountains of Clay County, southeastern Kentucky, is a co-educational Southern Baptist boarding school offering residential programs to students in Grades 6-12.

Oneida is a school that accepts students from all over the US and throughout the world, and introduces them to a different way of life, a Christ-centered life. The school provides rules that teach discipline and promote responsibility.

At Oneida Baptist, students will meet people from across the United States and around the world. They will also experience daily chores and responsibilities, interact with Christian adults, attend daily chapel services, receive individual attention in class and have a chance to join sports or other co-curriculars.

Oneida Baptist Institute has private school accreditation through the National Non-Public School Commission, the Kentucky Non-Public School Commission, and the Kentucky Department of Education.

La Lumiere School is a co-educational boarding and day college-preparatory high school located in La Porte, Indiana, just a over an hour south of Chicago.

Our aim is to shape the complete student in character, scholarship, and faith. Our curriculum, small classes, and dedicated faculty provide an academic environment with emphasis on the individual learner.

Founded in 1858, Woodlands Academy of the Sacred Heart is an independent, college preparatory boarding and day school for young women in Grades 9-12.

We are located in Lake Forest, Lake County, Illinois, 30 miles north of Chicago, and welcome domestic and international students. Woodlands’ curriculum includes Advanced Placement and honors courses, college prep, an exchange program, an exceptional fine arts program, year-round service opportunities, competitive athletics and club crew, as well as TOEFL and English as a Second Language options.

Boarding students live in single rooms on two floors of the boarding school. Our boarding facilities include wi-fi internet access, student lounges, a fully equipped and stocked kitchen, study rooms, a computer lab, shower facilities, and a laundry room.
