Certificate, Higher Certificate, Diploma & Degree qualifications are awarded at Levels 6,7 & 8 on the National Framework of Qualifications (NFQ) and at Levels 5 & 6 on the European Framework (EQF). The NCEF is audited and aligned to the European Industry standard, Exercise for Health Specialist (EQF Level 5).

The NCEF Head Office is located on the University of Limerick Campus and courses operate nationwide both in industry based commercial settings and in educational establishments. Training venues include:

Centre for Sports Studies - UCD
Courses / Programs
The Centre for Sport Studies, established in University College Dublin in 1999, serves as a focus of innovative academic activity in the increasingly important areas of Sports Studies through research, consultancy and the provision of multidisciplinary teaching. The Centre has a staff of five, works in partnership with departments in all UCD faculties and utilises the expertise of over 30 guest lecturers from a wide range of disciplines and backgrounds. There are approximately 200 full-time and part-time students, including mature entrants and elite athletes, enrolled on its undergraduate and postgraduate courses. Our MSc (Sports Studies) is being offered by UCD's Centre for Sports Studies in association with the Centre for Continuing Professional Education. This new programme may be taken on a one-year full time or a two-year part time basis and will normally be open to graduates who have completed and achieved a high standard in their primary degree.
