El Instituto de Estudios Norteamericanos en Barcelona, fue fundado en el año 1951 como una asociación privada, sin ánimo de lucro, destinada a promover el intercambio cultural, desde Cataluña, con los Estados Unidos de América.
Clases para los adultos:
Nuestro Plan de Estudios está diseñado para que el alumno pueda realizar cursos durante todo el año académico sin interrupción y con una dedicación normal o intensiva. También le permite acomodar el ritmo de aprendizaje de inglés a otras actividades profesionales o académicas, haciendo un paréntesis sin matricularse en algún trimestre, y volver después manteniendo el nivel académico durante un año natural. Transcurrido este tiempo, será necesario realizar una prueba de aptitud que determinará el curso que mejor se adapte a su nivel.
CURSOS ESTANDARD:
Los cursos estandard tienen una duración mínima de 30 horas y se pueden realizar en las siguientes modalidades:
Los horarios de clase pueden ser desde las 8 de la mañana hasta las 22 horas ininterrumpidamente, de lunes a viernes, y desde las 9 a las 15 horas el sábado, aunque se pueden organizar otros horarios según la demanda.
Cursos normales trimestrales de 3 horas semanales:
- Clases de dos días, 1 hora y media diaria (lunes-miércoles/martes-jueves/miércoles-viernes).
- Clases de un día, 3 horas (lunes mañana/viernes mañana o tarde/sábados mañana).
CURSOS INTENSIVOS:
Cursos intensivos trimestrales de 6 horas semanales:
- Clases de dos días, 3 horas diarias (lunes-miércoles/martes-jueves).
Cursos intensivos de verano:
- Julio: Clases de 2, 3 y 4 horas diarias, de lunes a jueves.
- Septiembre: Clases de 2, 3 y 4 horas diarias de lunes a viernes.
Curso de inglés para negócios:
Este programa ofrece cursos especiales, en diferentes niveles de inglés, para el mundo empresarial y profesional. Los cursos son trimestrales de 30 horas de duración y preparan a los alumnos para participar y comunicarse en inglés con éxito en situaciones diversas como reuniones, negocios y presentaciones.

Los cursos son trimestrales de 30 horas de clase, 3 horas semanales.
