Colorado Rocky Mountain School: Situated in the heart of the Colorado Rockies just 30 minutes from Aspen, the Colorado Rocky Mountain School (CRMS) is a co-ed college preparatory boarding school for boys & girls in Grades 9-12.
CRMS is surrounded by some of America's most outstanding vistas. At the crossroads of forest, river, valley and mountain, the 300-acre CRMS campus (which doubles as a working ranch) takes full advantage of its bucolic location in the shadow of 13,000-foot Mount Sopris.
The Garden Program at CRMS provides a context for experiential learning and a vehicle that promotes individual growth and challenge. Through thoughtful and intentional work experiences, students learn about themselves and the world around them while striving to provide sustenance for the community.
At the CRMS garden, students are at the center of the garden’s purpose. During the school year they are actively engaged in all the activities of the garden: preparing the soil, planting, fertilizing, maintaining tools and buildings, irrigating, weeding, controlling pests, composting, harvesting and processing.
