Cornerstone Academy College Preparatory:
Founded in 1975, Cornerstone Academy is a private, nonprofit school in the Portola District of San Francisco an primarily serves families from San Francisco and the Peninsula. The grade span is preschool through high school.
Accreditation
Cornerstone Academy is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges and is a member of College Board. The school’s commitment to education has led to its high academic standards preparing students for the rigors of college and their careers.
- Bilingual preschool & kindergarten programs (Chinese / English)
- Elementary, middle & high school programs with continued Chinese language
instruction from grades PreK - 12. Our academic program consists of core subjects in
English, Mandarin, math, science, history, religious studies, fine arts and electives. In
high school, Honors and Advanced Placement courses are offered in a variety of
classes.

Cornerstone Academy offers a full boarding program for high school students who require housing during their studies at our school. Living closely with other young people from diverse backgrounds teaches students to learn leadership skills, self-control, teamwork, patience, and kindness. For students who will soon be faced with the responsibility and independence of college life, the dormitory provides ample opportunity for developing self-discipline, time management skills, and respect for others.
Students are expected to attend all scheduled events, classes, and field trips. Students must conduct themselves in a mature and responsible manner. Students are required to treat other members of the community with respect and to take responsibility for their own actions.
