Montessori Preschool Curriculum:

Kindergarten Curriculum:
The Kindergarten curriculum anchors the academics at Bonita Country Day School. The curriculum has been carefully planned to inspire and excite children to learn. Academic goals of teaching children how to listen, how to think, how to reason, how to organize their thoughts, and how to study are of primary importance. We offer a challenging core educational program based on the academic fundamentals of reading, language arts and math.

We are committed to provide an enriched and balanced education through special studies in music, art, science and social studies. The kindergarten bilingual program addresses conversational Spanish with an emphasis on pronunciation and expanding vocabulary.

Grade School Curriculum (Grades 1-5):

Our core curriculum focuses on reading, language arts, and math. Foreign language, science and social studies, geography and study skills complete the academics. The arts are integrated into our curriculum, weaving together creative endeavors and other types of learning. Integration throughout the curriculum makes learning fun, ties class work to the students’ real world and develops abilities that last a lifetime.

Bonita Country Day School Hours:
-For the Elementary Grades the school hours are 8:00 am – 2:45 pm Mondays – Thursdays, and 8:00 – noon on Fridays.
- Kindergarten hours are 8:00 – 2:30 Mondays – Thursdays and 8:00 – noon on Fridays.
- Full-time Montessori Program hours are 8:30 to 2:30 Mondays through Thursdays and 8:30 – 11:30 on Fridays.
- Part-time Montessori hours are 8:30 – 11:30 Mondays – Fridays.

After-School Enrichment Program:

The After School Enrichment Program offers classes in a variety of activities that combine learning and fun. The classes are offered by experts in various fields. There are several sessions in the school year, and each session lasts approximately six weeks. The program has included classes in the areas of: athletics, sports, science, music and foreign language.

Bonita Country Day Extended School Care:
Students are supervised by childcare professionals on Bonita Country Day School campus. After regular school hours, children snack and then are given a short time to rest and time to play. Outdoor activities offer an opportunity for physical exercise. Children in the elementary grades are given time to do their homework. If there is no homework or if homework is finished, the children are guided to choose an activity.

The hours for extended care are as follows
:

- Before School:  7:00 a.m. until class begins
- After School:  Mondays through Thursdays: 2:30 / 2:45p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Fridays: noon until 6:00 p.m.

Bay Area School of Enterprise (BASE) is a Charter Public School located on Third Street in Alameda, CA. The first youth-initiated charter high school in the country, BASE provides an environment in which youth take ownership of their own learning and change their own lives as they change the community around them.
