Montessori Program Curriculum:
Students in our Montessori programs learn through hands-on activities rather than memorization. Each child learns at his or her own pace about mathematics, history, geography, science, language, and the arts through the use of special Montessori classroom materials.

Toddler & Primary Program - Curriculum:
Our Toddler Montessori classrooms are simpler and slower paced than the classroom for three to six year olds. Tables and chairs are smaller and the teacher-child ratio is lower. The materials are specifically structured to meet the developmental needs of toddlers.

Our Primary Montessori multi-age classrooms have children between 3 and 6 years of age working together in a large family-type atmosphere. Children are able to learn from each other and learn because of each other. Younger children have the opportunity to see the older children's more advanced, challenging work and more mature, responsible behavior. Similarly, the older children benefit from being role models and from reinforcing their own learning by teaching others.

Lower Elementary Program - Curriculum:
In our Montessori Lower Elementary classroom, we move from the simple to the complex and from the concrete to the abstract. The curriculum is integrated and flows from humanistic questions that Dr. Montessori thought were universal to all children: Who am I? Where do I come from? What is human about humans? What do humans need? How do I co-operate with the world?

Small Fry Dance Club

Small Fry Dance Club offers a preschool dance program in Foster City in San Mateo County, CA. Our dance program is designed to give young students a survey style class that covers basics in tap, ballet, jazz, creative movement, and yoga. Our goal is to help each student find a place for dance in their life. No matter what the degree of each child's dance goals, discovering movement should be nothing but empowering. Through dance, Small Fry teaches children to be creative, physically fit, flexible, confident, and artistic.

Small Fry Dance Club was founded by Jana Chapeton in early 2007. We have had 1,000 plus students come through the program at over 20 different schools. We have also been nominated as "Best Dance School" by Best of The Bay TV (2009).

All of our teachers have extensive education and experience teaching dance, performance, and motor skills to preschool and school age students. Twice a year, Small Fry dancers have the chance to participate in our company performances. Our shows are a great chance for the dancers to gain experience performing, while sharing their progress in weekly dance class with friends and family.
