Transitional Boarding School in Utah
Mountain Springs Preparatory Academy:
Located in Cedar City, Iron County UT, 250 miles south of Salt Lake City, Mountain Springs Preparatory Academy (MSPA) is a transitional boarding school for boys & girls ages 14-18, who are transitioning from a residential treatment center (RTC) or wilderness program in need of a safe environment to practice the new skills that that they have learned.
Mission Statement:
Transitioning students from a treatment environment back into society by creating opportunities for choice in order to assess progress and foster internal change.
MSPA is not a therapeutic boarding school but therapy is available from trained professionals in the community who work with MSPA and understand our unique mission and philosophy. MSPA is focused on helping students acclimate back into society.
Family Involvement:
Unlike traditional boarding schools, parents are very involved at Mountain Springs Preparatory Academy. Because Mountain Springs is usually the step immediately prior to a student returning home, parents must be involved extensively in every aspect of the program of their son or daughter. Parents play a key role in helping determine initially what skills and principles are most important for their son or daughter.

Located in Murray, in the suburbs of Salt Lake City, Utah, La Europa Academy provides individualized residential treatment for girls ages 13-17. Through a solid integration of therapeutic, academic, and environmental interventions, we help adolescent girls and their families to find their greatness again. Are you searching for a boarding school for troubled teens in the Northwest? Located on a beautiful and safe 150 acre campus in Montana, Turning Winds Academic Institute (TWAI) is a family-run, therapeutic boarding school for troubled teen girls & boys ages 13-18 from Wyoming and across the U.S.
We combine the benefits of a therapeutic boarding school, a wilderness program, and a residential treatment center (RTC) for students who present with issues such as poor academic performance, behavioral problems, addictions, low self-worth, spectrum disorders, ADD/ADHD, and attachment disorders among others.
Accredited by National Independent Private Schools Association (NIPPSA), and Northwest Accreditation Commission (NWAC), we provide an extremely high standard of therapeutic treatment to our students and their families, with an exceptional level of success.
We are a small program (40 students) with a student to staff ratio of 5:1. This allows us to provide a truly unique and customized approach for every student.
TWAI requires a minimum commitment of 3 months. However, best results for lasting success are realized through 6+ months of treatment. The average stay at our residential treatment center is 12 months.
