St. Andrew’s-Sewanee School is a private, coeducational, episcopal, boarding and day college preparatory school serving students in Grades 6-12. We are located in Sewanee, Franklin County, southern Tennessee, just off I-24 between Nashville and Chattanooga. St. Andrew's-Sewanee School encourages students to develop their leadership potential by taking on roles of increasing responsibility throughout their school years. SAS prepares students for the demands of college through a rigorous academic program with college prep and AP courses focusing on critical thinking and advanced writing as well as an award winning arts program.

Academics:
SAS prepares students for the demands of college and life through a rigorous academic program that focuses on critical thinking and advanced writing. Realizing the value of a core curriculum, SAS emphasizes English, history, mathematics, science, foreign language, and the arts. Classes are focused on active learning with teachers facilitating as students seek answers to complex questions.
Basic requirements for graduation include four years of English, three years of mathematics, three years of history, two years of a single foreign language at the high school level, physical science, biology, one year of the arts, Introduction to Religion (a highly academic course focusing on student research), and Life Issues (ninth grade). Traditionally, students go well beyond fulfilling minimum requirements and partake in electives, including Environmental Science, Geology, History of Western Philosophy, A History of America’s Civil Rights Movement, Theater, and a multitude of independent advanced-study opportunities.
Science at SAS is lab and field based allowing students to experience science rather than merely study its theories. In the arts, students have opportunities to take advanced courses in all disciplines. Art, music, and theater may be taken for academic credit.Advanced Placement Courses:
Students may choose to take AP exams each spring, most commonly in calculus, English literature, and French language. Students routinely receive scores high enough to provide college credit or advanced placement.
College Preparation Courses:
We also offer College Preparation Courses for SAT and ACT.
Arts:
St. Andrew’s-Sewanee has long enjoyed a strong reputation for its arts programs, an integral part of the curriculum. Students can enjoy classes in visual arts including studio art and clay, music and theater.
Athletics:
St. Andrew’s-Sewanee offers all students the opportunity to develop their athletic skills, to reach their athletic potential, and to enjoy sports through team membership, competition and participation.
Baseball, basketball, cross country, football, golf, soccer, softball, swimming, tennis, track and field, volleyball, wrestling are among the key sport activities at SAS.
