Holy Ghost Catholic School:
Holy Ghost Catholic School, located in the sourtheast quadrant of Albuquerque, New Mexico, is a private co-ed Catholic school serving grades Pre-K thru 8. Holy Ghost School was founded in 1953 by the Sisters of the Immaculate Heart of Mary. Holy Ghost Catholic School was selected to receive a "2009 Blue Ribbon School Award" by the United States Department of Education! Only 51 private schools in the nation were selected for this most prestigious award. This means that our 8th graders scores in reading and math on the Iowa Test of Basic Skills are in the top 10% in the nation!

Curriculum:
The Diocesan curriculum guidelines, consistent with the state of New Mexico guidelines, are followed for the teaching of all secular subject areas. Holy Ghost Catholic School offers students opportunities for growth in the following major subjects.

Religion:
Catholic doctrine and tradition, sacraments, traditions, Bible study, prayer, Social Justice, Service Learning, preparation for the reception of the sacraments of Reconciliation and Eucharist. Liturgical services are held twice monthly and on Holy Days and for special events. A Scripture Prayer Service begins each school day. All students registered at Holy Ghost Catholic School are required to take the religion course offered to their grade. The religion curriculum will be consistent with the teachings of the Roman Catholic Church and will conform to the guidelines of the diocese as appropriate. Students in Grades 5 and 8 will take the ACRE (Assessment of Catechesis of Religious Education) test annually.

Language Arts:
Reading, English, Spelling, Writing, Library Skills, Appreciation of Literature.

Mathematics:
Mathematics skills based on the National Standards for the Teaching of Math.

Physical Education:
Physical fitness program appropriate for grade levels, Health (Grades 5-8), Guidance (Grades K-5).

Social Studies:
History, Geography, New Mexico History (Grades 4 and 7).

Science:
General Sciences, Environmental Science (Grade 6), Physical Science or Life Science (Grades 7 and 8).

Spanish:
Vocabulary, common expressions, grammar, conversation and culture.

Handwriting:
Students in grades 3-8 are expected to submit all handwritten work in cursive.

Fine Arts:
Music, Studio Art.

Computer Literacy:
Word Processing, Knowledge of Computer Parts and their Care, Data Base, Spread Sheets, Graphics, and integration with curricular subjects.

Writing (Grades 6-8):
All reports and research papers must be typed and must meet Modern Language standards.

Service Learning:
All students are required to participate in the school’s Service Learning Program and turn in a completed Service Learning Form twice each year.

Hummingbird Music Camp
Courses / Programs
Located in the Jemez Springs area of Central New Mexico, just an hour north of Albuquerque, Hummingbird Music Camp provides week-long residential summer music camps to boys and girls ages 8-14.

Beginner to advanced level group ensembles are offered, including: band, guitar, orchestra, piano and voice specializations. We also provide 1-week Art Camps and Chess Camps which run alongside our dedicated Music Camps.

In addition to musical activities, campers also take part in traditional camp events such as campfires with original camp songs and skits, overnight hikes, storytelling and outdoor cookouts.

Although music is taken very seriously at the camp, the focus is not on competition. Our campers are encouraged to grow musically on their chosen instruments by starting their musical instruction at their current level of ability.

Our Teachers range from undergraduate, graduate students and professional teachers. The majority of our instructors teach in public and private schools throughout the year. Most of the teachers teach two weeks at camp and return year after year. The average staff return rate is 95%.

Based in Albuquerque NM, the Cottonwood Gulch Foundation provides a wide range of educational wilderness expeditions and outdoor summer programs for kids and teens ages 10-19, as well as Family programs and Adult programs. Our wilderness expeditions take place in the heart of the American Southwest, and promote personal growth, scientific, historic, and cultural discovery as well as a knowledgeable environmental ethic among all those who participate.

Based in New Mexico, our Summer Expeditions range from 2-6 weeks, and are for kids ages 10-19. No expertise is needed to join, just a sense of adventure and a desire to learn about the animals, art, and unique culture of the Southwest.

We have been leading wilderness expeditions in the Southwest since 1926. Our groups visit different ecosystems of the Four Corners states: New Mexico, Arizona, Utah, and Colorado — red rock canyons, high desert mesas and alpine ranges — to play and explore. We explore mostly on foot, backpacking and day-hiking into the back-country, but we also sometimes canoe through river canyons.

Cross of Hope Elementary School, located on the west side of Albuquerque, New Mexico, is a Christian school of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America (ELCA) offering Preschool to 5th Grade programs. Cross of Hope Elementary School offers quality, developmentally appropriate education devoted to Christian nurture for children.

Cross of Hope houses two educational ministries. The Cross of Hope Preschool is available for 3 and 4 year olds, while the Cross of Hope School will provide elementary education starting with Kindergarten.
